The squad is capable of playing better than it has done recently, even counting for injuries
Yes fair enough, most fans thought that he should have been playing with three in midfield, that is a legitimate complaint and certainly we should have done better v Brentford but City and Liverpool were just too good for us no matter who we selected, although when got a goal back v Liverpool we were back in the game until the calamitous cock up took all the fight out of us.

I think there are better days, and nights ahead with DCL back and two or three decent signings and I think Benitez is forcing changes on and off the field that will benefit Everton FC in the long run.

Liverpool were too good but were handed the freedom of the park mate. It was ridiculous.

We’re still relying a lot on DCL and that’s a worry considering the injury. If Benitez has realised he needs to stick with these changes then I’ll get behind him a bit more. But we’ll see come Palace

Some very worrying signs last night. To say we got lucky with that last 10 minute flourish was an understatement. If not for the pair of worldies from Gray we would have lost that match.

Arsenal had multiple opportunities as well despite playing about as badly as you could imagine.

I would expect a draw at best against Palace followed by the routine hammering at Chelsea at which point we are back to square one with the pig.

Disturbing times.

Such as scoring more goals then the other team, dont want that now do we

What has he done to show he can do this?

His career is a litany of trying to do this... failing... then getting sacked.

At Newcastle, they had a really bad injury rate, within a few weeks of being there he ordered them to rip up the training pitch and put a new one in, injury rate improved.

He got rid of Graham Carr who was their chief scout.

He tried to get rid of Charnley their DOF but to no avail.

Brought in Amanda Staveley to buy Ashley out.

He’s been fired everywhere he’s gone - tried to impose his authority, lost and been booted.

That is the measure of the man.

We pulled a rabbit out of the hat courtesy of gray, the crowd and a very poor arsenal side.

I saw very little positives aside from the actual result .

Behave mate. We had 2 goals ruled out due to VAR, they are changing how they rule offsides next season, so those 2 goals would have counted.

Even if Gray didn't score, we would have at least drawn last season, considering people were predicting Arteta to steamroller over us. We did well.

I’m sorry I’m not interested in counting illegal goals - let’s just see what happens when we don’t have the crowd behind us against Palace.
