This works both ways though doesn't it?
The Benitez backers would have been slating him before he came to the club but now he is here they jump to his defence constantly? Would that not be classed as incredibly fickle too in this instance?
I am not sure either way is down to fickleness (is that a word?) though.
Benitez backers will defend him as they see it is being what is right for the club. They will give him every chance to the point of being daft as they think its important to do so for the harmony of the club so that we can push on to better things.
The anti Benitez people will slate him as often as they can to the point of being daft as they see that is being what is right for the club. They see the identity and tradition of the club to be important for the harmony of the club so they can push on to better things.
Are either of them actually wrong?
I don’t think they are which is why its grim seeing fans who at the end of the day all want the same thing (Everton to be better) but feel differently about how we achieve that.
The divisiveness will never go with him in charge though. All it takes is one bad result, one bad substitution, one bad comment and it kicks off again which is why for me he should never ever have been appointed in the first place.
