I don't think we can be sure who we bid for. The only thing we can be sure about is that there were issues and that meant that yet again we didn't get a right back. That's a failing from everyone, manager, DOF and anyone else involved in recruitment.

We don't need experience. We need along term successor to Coleman who then provides experience in the squad, off the bench and through rotation.
Absolutely. We also need to stop looking for reasons to hate the manager more than we do. It is not good for anyone.

No, I am saying the reaction of the fans, treating it as gospel and then turning further on the manager, is madness. It is an unproven story that is then being used against the manager.
We have a right to know what is happening at the club. The story isn’t just making the manager look bad, but it’s also pointing fingers at the board for lack of clarification of what peoples duties actually are.

We’ve had 2 DoF, everyone thought that these people where there to oversee the footballing model; that doesn’t seem to be the case. It’s about accountability and that’s what fans want to know.

But we do not know if it is true, that is the point and you have proved what I am saying. People taking stories like this and believing them and turning it in to anti Rafael/board.club nonsense

I agree. If we go on a positive run, the divisiveness will drop off, such is the fickleness of fans
This works both ways though doesn't it?

The Benitez backers would have been slating him before he came to the club but now he is here they jump to his defence constantly? Would that not be classed as incredibly fickle too in this instance?

I am not sure either way is down to fickleness (is that a word?) though.

Benitez backers will defend him as they see it is being what is right for the club. They will give him every chance to the point of being daft as they think its important to do so for the harmony of the club so that we can push on to better things.

The anti Benitez people will slate him as often as they can to the point of being daft as they see that is being what is right for the club. They see the identity and tradition of the club to be important for the harmony of the club so they can push on to better things.

Are either of them actually wrong?

I don’t think they are which is why its grim seeing fans who at the end of the day all want the same thing (Everton to be better) but feel differently about how we achieve that.

The divisiveness will never go with him in charge though. All it takes is one bad result, one bad substitution, one bad comment and it kicks off again which is why for me he should never ever have been appointed in the first place.

Can we also blame Benitez for Small wanting to leave due to lack of opportunity under Ancelotti who was one of our most talented youngsters coming through the Academy. Ironic how he would probably have a good chance of getting into the first team now that Digne has been dropped.
He was 16. Leaving at that age for more chance of game time probably says the issue is with him more than anyone at Everton.

I dunno, am neither backer or anti RB, I just think it neds to be left to play out fairly, not on negative rhetoric that appears designed to turn fans against the management.

As for fickleness... I wasn't certain but hoped no one would notice

No wonder Brands got binned then.
His prerogative - as I understood it - was to find and sign young talent, develop for the first team and sell for profit.
Then Ancelotti wanted immediate experience and got it... Now Benitez it seemed was the same.
Farhad backed them instead of Brands and there we have it.

So I wonder what experience Benitez will add to the team in January
Brands should have walked last summer as he had no influence on managers, coaching staff or now it seems players.

Useless appointment if he can’t do the job in his JD.

I hate this fake cryptic BS, just straight up call him out after a few ales like Pienaar would have done on twitter a few years ago.
...but, but, but that would be confrontational...and not Dan's style of spreading peace, love'n'harmony and charidee to all men.

People going mad about unsubstantiated rumours again
The thing is, we can look back at pretty much every club Benitez has been too and form an opinion based on actual evidence, this all points to being true, it’s his stubborn way of doing things. There no way he’s changed just because he now manages us.
Like you say, we can never actually say it’s true or false but I’m leaning towards the rumour being true.
