Genuine question, how can you say the last 10 games are not relegation form?

i dont wanna resort to insults and mud slinging as this is what has been created but just how can you justify that statement?
cos in those last ten we've played city Liverpool spurs arsenal and Chelsea. how many points do we normally pick up against that lot. Not many. Only a madman would say we are in relegation form at the moment. We've just drawn away from home at the European Champions with near a whole team out, got a good draw against Conte's Spurs and whooped Arsenal in thrilling fashion.
We is back.

Rondon played well in the derby though, he then scored against Palace, he had good chances v Brentford as well which show she’s getting in the right positions. I could have bought the argument for playing one of the other two when he was blatantly unfit at the start of the season (although Simms wasn’t fit either then) but people are hanging on about it like it’s the craziest decision ever. It’s a decision most managers would make. They’ll nearly always go with experience over a completely untested kid to start games if they have the chance. It’s not absolutely crazy for our manager to do that especially given Rondon’s previous form in the league before he joined us.

Once again, it’s huge overreaction to small decisions rather than looking at the wider problems at the club.

It’s a decision that is emblematic of the wider problems at the club, though.

Also he was terrible at Brentford.

Is there a form chart for 17 league games? Larger sample, better indicator. If only one existed.
It's the old case of twisting stats to suit. Looks damning and it is but why 13 games why not 5 games. It is agenda ridden. Like the fact that we have lost more PL games than anyone else in history. Stats are a manipulation to suit. Regardless, for the last 20 odd years we have been crap

Exactly. We’ve been rubbish for so long that most people seemed to accept that any repair job here was a long term one, multiple seasons, fixing the underlying issues of player fitness, poor recruitment, poor mentality etc,

Instead there’s people going berserk because we lost to Palace (who also beat City) or Brentford (who beat Arsenal), or getting incensed because Rondon gets game time over Simms, or if you select ten specific games of the season we’ve got relegation form.

It’s all just small beer. Patience is required for the bigger picture changes and these inconveniences at the moment are irrelevant. We’re not looking likely to go down at all, therefore every effort now should be directed to fixing the big problems at the club, not trying to get managers fired because he lost against a certain team or played a certain player. None of these things are any rationale to sack a manager given the conditions he walked into here.

That would have us 16th with 3 teams bellow with 2 games in hand.

Imagine Gray Richarlison DCL upfront with actual midfield options behind them in a team actually working for the manager. He’s taking points off top 6 sides with scratch teams yet some are still karping on about relegation.

Loyalty gets you a long way in this league. No one can tell me that having people about the place looking to jump ship doesn't effect the whole team.

Get Digne and Mina and anyone else out of this club who dont want to be here and get their replacement in, and that alone will improve matters ten-fold.

  • Large core of players backing the manager all the way - some senior pros, others breaking through
  • Chance in 2 weeks to get players out the door who dont want to be here
  • Three or four lined up to come in during January
  • Games to come: Burnley, Newcastle, Brighton, Norwich
Tell me we aren't on our way back up the table...
the rebellion has been seen off, Captain. There are a handful of mutineers still fighting but they are barricaded in below decks and can cause no further trouble.

Last night we saw Gomes Gbamin Iwobi all on the pitch busting a gut at times to try and close down Chelsea. I’m not saying any of them were particularly good quality wise but the fact that they are fit, and actually running for the team, at a top away ground when we were behind, shows the difference already.

I’ve seen this group of players give up so many times. Whole games when they’ve barely broken a sweat, or just stopped as soon as they’ve gone behind. Some of the moments even in games we’ve lost have been heartening seeing previously useless players for us actually wanting to put a shift in.

This foundation will reap benefit in time if people can keep their pitchforks away for long enough.

Imagine an improved first team (Gray DCL Richarlison, Doucoure Allan, new signings) all doing that sort of effort, every game, with quality options on the bench to rotate in, all with more time under their belt learning the system. That scenario may only be a window or two away.

I just wish everyone would now get behind this manager and his team.

It was obvious from the Arsenal game and especially last night that they are united and looking to the fans to push them over the line.

We can get results in all but a couple of fixtures in this league if we all stick together.
