I just see your user name and the posts you put on here, and the letters BELLEND and then an exclamation mark appear in front of my eyes. It could be that I am confusing these letters with the letters in your username. But you have to admit it is quite weird that there is this similarity between the letters in your name and the fact you are one?

Hi mate, if you're going to have a meltdown can you at least have the decency to at least try to be a bit funny with it?

Thanks mate.

Is this thread some kind of social experiment?

Posts calling out a poor manager due to dreadful performances since they were appointed.

Then some random (mostly) new posters backing that same manager with nonsensical arguments.

Benitez' PR team is truly second to none.
Would it be fair to say there is a third group of people, who are willing to give him time.

I think this group will be the more pragmatic group who are not prone to knee jerk reactions week on week.

I think we need to give the man 12mths
My hope is he can get stability on and off the pitch…..

I don’t expect trophies

Is this a defeatist attitude???

Good Post.. would like to think there will be a lot of people understanding this point of view but I feel it will fall on deaf ears... sadly..

The world is your oyster.
It all depends on personal preference.
Firstly the profile of an Everton manager i would favour is one prefers his team to play on the front foot , to attempt to dominate and control games , but who is willing to be somewhat pragmatic during the evolution of the team rather than rush the job . I am willing to be patient for such a coach.
I would like to see to see an Everton team that is brave , bold and skilful. A team I am proud to support because it aspires to play good football.
A team that inspires hope of success rather than just survival.
After all that my personal choice for manager would be Marcelo Gallardo, but others will have other equally optimistic options no doubt.

Think you are spot on with that.. it’s all about how he’s doing when all his players are available.. he has been given sufficient funds and the team is playing his style of football..

Your completely right about the people above not having a clue that’s why a DOF should be out of the question.. stupid made up role... I file that role along with another modern football term... of Gardening Leave...

The issue is though, a DOF should have a clue and would be better running the football side than DBB, kenwright and Moshiri. But they have to let them do their job.

Totally honest, I couldn’t disagree with anything you have put down
I guess my only point of contention is I don’t think we are in the right place to get that type of manager at this moment in time.
I am hoping we will get to that position quickly, once we become stable and organised

In my experience, successful organisations,m and people dont really sit around and wait for the optimum moment to do the right thing though.

They come up with a plan and move forward with it.

I dont really know what the plan is with Benitez, as these things are rarely explained. It looks like we want to tread water for a bit, which again is not a plan that successful people do.

I am all for giving people time, but I like to see we are moving in tbe right direction. I remain to be convinced of that, but am open to persuasion.

To me, Benitez is a product of a poor structure, in much the same way Allardyce was. From what I've seen, he is also a poor mans Allardyce who doesnt even maximise returns within said structure.

But look, he is here, and I hope he does well.

Yes I get what you are saying.. thing is.. what happens if the DOF brings in a player or players you don’t rate or fit in with how you want your team to play.. don’t forget if it doesn’t work it’s your head on the chopping block not the DOF.. you get sacked not him..

Yes the key to it is getting a stability and foundations to grow.. this will take time unfortunately as it won’t happen overnight.. patience will be the key and a couple of transfer windows which am sure he will get..
