What Manager is there when not supported by the majority shareholder? He is here because Everton has become a shambles with no cohesion at the top level. I don't know how he will do but we need a ruthless clear out and singular vision. That is something he can provide, hopefully with great results when done.
This is something we are going to have to HOPE he provides.

There is no proof that he will be able to provide it is there?

He won at Madrid and Inter, and was punted due to player power.
Won the geordies the only trophy they realistically can win: the championship.

Benitez was sacked at Inter and Madrid due to:

1: Turning Mourinho and Ancelotti's teams into negative, defensive boring failures.

2: Alienating the players who questioned his shocking tactics and didnt want to play for him.

3: Annoying the fans with the teams performances and press conferences which held no basis in reality.

Not quite sure what alternate universe youre in where he wss solely punted due to "player power".

Like I said before, this poll would be dramatically different if it was done at the start of the season around the 6 7 game mark. A majority of fans are not fixated on the ex-liverpool link. Start winning and showing signs of improvement and he will be accepted. Taking into consideration the bad run Everton is currently on, the poll result is not as bad as some expected. Injuries and the general poor quality of the squad are mitigating factors. I cannot speak for everyone but I can see a plan and vision being implemented. I maintain my stand that the summer transfers and next season is the defining moment of whether he will be widely accepted or not.

Tl;dr. Small minority who blindly support him. Small minority who will never support him. Majority who will wait and see.

Two good performances in our last 3. I am not convinced he is the ideal person to take us forward but I am convinced we can't sack him without a plan.
The minute you start naming alternative managers the fan base gets even more divided.
Potter for me plays the way I would love to watch everton play... but he would need to overhaul the squad. We would find ourselves midtable this time next year and we would find elements of the fanbase calling for his head.
The fact is there is no short-term fix to our predicament. If we can offer some improvements over the next 4 fixtures I would rather stick than twist. Its a pragmatic choice rather than an emotional one though

I fully understand this position it is highly sensible and the upheaval during this new regime has harmed us greatly.
But, as with Allardyce , the direction of travel in terms of the style of football is entirely disheartening to me.
Perhaps if he could find a way to change his career- long footballing ethos, more positive less negative, I could be more optimistic about his tenure but I think this is unlikely and the evidence thus far confirms this.

I think the Leicester game being postponed has saved him for now, if he lost that the away fans have already turned against him and that game if were losing would have been really toxic.

I also think he will now be given another 4/5 weeks depending on results, as players come back from injuries he has to get results and play in a way that satisfies the fans, because at the moment we don't have a style of play, it's just awful

It would be nice to watch some actual 'football' wouldn't it not parking the bus constantly.

This completely, which is why it is decisive when people claim that the fan base is divided into Benitez lovers and haters. The fact that I see it as sensible for the good of Everton to stick with Benitez for the time being does not mean I love him.
