Im on the fence still mate - he's underperforming at the moment but I dont think we'll attract anyone any better mid season with our current financial situation.

I said months back whilst BMD is being built expect 2 seasons of scraping around mid table until the decks are cleared financially & the new ground is built giving us a welcome financial boost with the USM naming rights deal in addition etc.

Replacing Benitez tomorrow with Lampard or Hughes who we'll be sacking 18 months down the line themselves makes little sense to me.

I still can't get my head around how much we're supposedly paying him. 6m a year for a manager NOBODY else wanted at all. Who failed in China. Who got Newcastle relegated and was outmanaged by Steve fn Bruce. Literally his only selling point was proximity to the grounds. Just an abject failure of an appointment by Moshiri, again. Every single time there has been a better option available he's gone with the wrong choice instead.

Exactly this, beginning of the season target should have been 59 pts minimum. I was allowing for around 50pts after the injuries etc and giving Benitez a by ball but we're now on course for 41-44 pts unless he somehow turns it around which looks unlikely and for me he has no excuses now regarding injuries etc. Let's not forget this owner sacked Martinez for that point haul difference there was that Martinez gave us good cup runs at least
