I’m sorry mate but you can do one with that

I’ve seen Rondon stink out the joint multiple times. We all have

Unless Dobbin and Simms spend training curling out #2’s in the centre circle then there is zero excuse to persist with Rondon at this stage

Zero

Anyone trotting out that utterly stupid argument you’ve just made needs to wake up

We know why he picks Rondon and training has NOTHING to do with it

Rondon is his guy and Dobbin isn’t

Simple as

Stop defending the indefensible

Maybe he trusts Rondon to make the right decisions in terms of movement and defensive shape. Even if he has 0 pace, if the ball is going to fall in the box in the last minute to either Rondon or Simms, I think most would trust Rondon.

If we are desperate for a goal and we’re punting the ball into the box, aerially Rondon will win more than Simms, for me. If we’re in front and hanging on to a lead, Rondon will physically hold on to the ball and bring others into play better than Simms.

He is limited but is the lesser of two evils, yes Simms is a wild card but that comes with challenges too.

It’s nothing to do with trust

Rondon is his mate

The other two aren’t

That’s all there is to it

People need to wake up

Rondon has been awful consistently

The utterly stupid point being the one that points out that the manager has seen vastly more of both of them than you have ? Just like the previous manager who also ignored them...

Have you considered the possibility that they are both worse than Rondon ? Simms started against Chelsea and barely got a sniff as you'd expect and Dobbin has come on as a sub briefly and also done nothing.

We aren't going to start getting results by playing either of them, pointless thing to focus on imo, especially as DCL is back now.
Simms played against the European champions and did ok. Dobbin did very well against them.

But in reality no damage has been done yet. Some think it will get worse and we'll be relegated others think it will get better with the addition of new players. Reality is probably somewhere in the middle.

What if this was the plan the board bought into? As in getting worse whilst he restructures the playing side from top to bottom. We don't know what any plan could be. We only see what's on the pitch which to be honest isn't very good but if there is a plan then I will reserve judgement for now.
Are you serious?

If we drop into the relegation places I'll be with you with a pitchfiork.

It wont happen.

Relax.

Mid-table finish with some ease once we get the new signings and DCL and Richarlison on the pitch.
DCL and Richy will already have been in contact with their agents if they have any sense agitating for a move away from this car crash of a club, followed by Pickford and Mina while we make bids for washed up 30 year olds on huge wages.
Feck off Benny ball bag..hopefully take some of the so called supporters defending you as well

The question I suppose worth asking is what if benitez takes us down? Not literally as he would be sacked before that actually happened at the point of being too late.

I know the chances of it happening are minimal because we can't be worse than the teams below us.

But what if we get to that point? The board doubling down on him for so long despite the results. Wouldn't that destroy the fans link with the club itself given who they are backing?

I know it's fantasy talk because we won't go down but what if we did get to that point? Head under the water esq run in.
Minimal?? - we are a Burnley or a Newcastle revival away from relegation.

going by the chelsea game, I'd have put Dobbin on.
Everything you're describing is what I thought Rondon would bring but he's barely shown any signs of it and if you're chasing the game you need more pace than he offers.
He's good at holding the ball up but they should be on the front foot at that point. And DCL can also hold the ball up and bring a fast attacker in to the game. DCL and Rondon makes no sense.

Having had a look at the goal again, I’m not even sure they are purely zonal tbh. I mistakenly thought he started on the back post but he doesn’t. He appears to be man marking in a but if a hybrid system, full sequence below.
Either way it was shocking defending and shouldn’t need a a manager to micromanage a situation like that, nor do I believe he / they were told to behave that way

Of course it shouldn't. But even if Keane stays where he is...there's 2 men free and a 3rd coming in from fullback. It's a mess of a set up full stop.

If you read this from the echo it's Davide Ancelotti going over how they do set pieces...https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/davide-ancelotti-carlo-everton-tactics-20018439.amp

Bottom line is they didnt overload them with information. Knowing Benitez style over the years, he'll batter their heads with a million details. Something their tiny heads won't compute

highly doubt that.

And as for holding onto the ball and bringing others into play, he’s never done that since he’s been here, he’s either 20 yards away from play or falling on his ass. Atrocious footballer
