The only information you have about this situation is coming from Benitez and he isn't a reliable source.

Everything else you wrote is based off of that assumption.

I believe Lucas over Benitez every day of the week.
Because that's your prerogative as you clearly hate Benitez....

Can't see the wood for the trees.

Because most of our players have big egos and put themselves first before the team. That is what Rafael is saying

Well let's see where we finish then. This time last year we looked nailed on for top 6 with a Manager we all were behind. I am 100% behind Rafael on this particular topic, but he does need to start getting results. A top 10 finish is a must.
Well in brown eye, sorry Eagle eye

Bit torn on this one. On the one hand, we need players who want to be here and I'm happy to sell anyone who won't put a shift in. On the other, would he be asking to leave if he was allowed to play as an actual fullback? He has been class at that in the past. The fall out appears to be down to Benitez's dire tactics and him refusing to listen to Digne, rather than a lack of desire to play for Everton. If that's the case, which I suspect it is, it won't be the last time this happens. If his tactics were good and we were winning football games, I'd be siding with the manager. The fact of the matter is we look absolutely clueless at the basics and are getting humped most weeks. We've got 1 win in 12, are bottom of the last 10 games form table, and were a stoppage time worldie from Gray away from having no wins in 12.

On reflection, get rid of the manager. He doesn't deserve to be here based on results and performances and he's causing nothing but division.

In the presser earlier:

Vinny O'Connor: 'in that situation [after saying he wanted to leave] why was Lucas named on the bench against Brighton?'

Benitez: 'because as a manager you have a responsibility to try and do what is best for the club'

Not entirely sure what he was getting at with that.. probably just trying to say that we otherwise would've been very short on numbers if he wasn't named.

Either way, he didn't even get on the pitch regardless.
I get that but if we were short why didn't he put a kid on the bench? I'm sure if digne didn't want to be here one of the kids would've jumped at the chance.

Carragher says stuff for clicks. He used to rip Rafael to shreds at Newcastle and then share a helicopter ride home with him.
Ahhh so at least we now know who you are and how you got so much info......your the helicopter aren't you!!

So is this fella having a go at reidy ? I mean if that’s what that was surely that’s not a difficult argument to pick a side in , i accept the odd poster will be firmly in the manager camp but I mean why name check an Everton legend you weirdo ?
Peter Reid took responsibility he was honest even when an individual let the team down he always looked at himself first and how can he help the team he never blamed others for his failure, Peter Reid is everything Benitez isn't, I'm not surprised hes had a dig at Reid.

He doesn't want to be here because of Raffa. Simple. Reason why is he's basically stated in that conference that Digne questioned him using how he performed last season.

When asked why he wants to leave, he did his usual vauge answers and used Peter Reid as an example to get the fans on his side.

He probably noticed the fans clamping Digne warming up and didnt like it against Brighton

Benitez going on in his interview, asking what would Peter Reid do in this situation.

I give Rafael a chance more than most but I would trust Digne over him too.
Too many decisions have been based on ego rather than the good of the club.
He told everyone Rodriguez was unavailable yet JR was publicly saying he is available to play.
He played Rondon at times to prove a point.
Digne has never made any noises until suddenly the manager bombs him, I personally still don’t think he has.
Played RB at left back just to keep Digne out, that’s not for the good of the club.
I can guarantee there will be more fall outs before the end of the season, and definitely more noises from Richie and DCL if Benitez is here at end of the season.
