Morning all. I'm new to the forum (Rangers supporter with a long held affinity for Everton). It seems there's a fair amount of negativity towards Benitez, is this due to his general performance as a manager or because he's an ex-manager of the other Merseyside team? This is a genuine question, I've not paid a great deal of attention to his career and I know that this situation would be unlikely to happen in Glasgow.
For some, it's the LFC thing.

For others, it's more about him having the worst manager points record, winning 1 game in the last 12, having no tactical plan, alienating players, endless lies about "we play on the front foot and try to dominate" despite being 2nd bottom for possession and totally outplayed by every other team, constantly conceding first, constantly conceding from set pieces because the arrogant egotist threw out what was working, the whole team looking like strangers with virtually every player regressing week on week, and the team slippping closer and closer to the relegation places - but of course, none of it is his fault, it's all because of the sabotaging players and the 372 injuries and the 40p transfer budget and Jupiter being in alignment with Capricorn etc etc.

Lots of reasons to pick from really. Hope that helps.

If 20th is one of the options then no I'll pass on just seeing where we finish I'd rather see the club take some action to stop what has become a terrible rot before it gets too late.
Signing 2 full backs, getting rid of an inept Director of Football and binning off a player that has done nothing for 2 years isn't action?

Yeah the manager won't play him and would rather we lose games but this is Digne's fault for wanting to leave a club where the manager won't play him because his ego is planet sized.

Get your head out his arse ffs
Mate.....

Like it or not, Benitez is his boss and he's being paid a fortune by Everton Football Club to go out onto the pitch and give it his all, regardless of how he's being deployed.

There's absolutely no way we should be backing a player who is quite obviously taking the piss here. Benitez has made it clear on several occasions that he's a good player and important one but he's refusing to be a team player. I have absolutely no time for that personally. Plus, he's stunk the place out for the best part of a year now, so it wouldn't surprise me if his attitude has also been called into question and he's become a big prima donna about it all.. all now leading to him effectively abandoning the club & fans that have supported him so well.

You know what? all of this vitriol is solely coming from the fact that many hate Benitez that much that they're siding with a clearly troublesome player over him, which is hysterical. How about we continue to just allow players to take the piss, ey? It's not like that's been an issue at Everton for ages now....... :coffee:

A few reasons mate but the main reason is that he's absolutely crap and had his best days abou

I would say that about covers it...

He has the full backing of the owner - the one giving him cash for players right now.

That's all he needs.
I believe that is true.
I believe he is solidly in charge at the club and unless there is a melt down on the field over the next couple of months then he will remain in charge.
I think Moshiri could not care less what the fans think should happen or RB would not have ever been appointed.

The fan reaction at Goodison on Tuesday will be interesting as that is the acid test rather than some ramdom posters on a chat room.

Pigs or pigman,?

I think I saw digne sitting on the bench against Brighton last week, begs the question, if he didn't want to play for us what was he doing there and if the manager only wants player's who only want to be here why did he put him there?
