If we had this player attitude problem last year and still performed much better under Carlo than under Benitez then why is the player attitude problem to blame for our results this year?

This is just my best guess based on experience. I was asked, and I answered. In the last 11 games we have an average score of 0.45 per game, which is unusually bad. My experience, in a football context, is that this tends to turn around. In addition, we have brought in some new players, and at the same time we get players back from injury.

Then I have also worked enough with people that I know that change takes time. Furthermore, unlike many here, I do not think Benitez is incompetent, but on the contrary is a good manager. That's also pretty much what former players say. Most recently, he was fully praised by Isac Hayden, and I have some friends who follow Newcastle closely, who confirm this. But there is no guarantee.
