While I don't think koeman is a good manager. He was judged way too harshly off those opening 10 games. We had finished 7th. He then played 5 of the 6 teams who had finished ahead of us in the first 8 games or something and we hadn't bothered replacing lukaku other than with 3 crap number 10s, only 1 of which he wanted.
Neither Koeman or Benitez help themselves by being utter bulbs of men.

He had a similar issue in his 2nd season at Southampton, then recovered and went on to finish 7th.
He actually got points against the crap teams he played.

Of his 9 league games that season, he beat Stoke, Bournemouth, Burnley and drew with Brighton. He also drew with City.

It was the big losses against the other Sly 6 as well.as his European failings that cost him. But again, DCL wasn't ready at that point and we didn't replace lukaku. But he had earnt more time in my view by actually doing allright the season before.

He was an arse as well which also didn't help. A bit like our current manager - to get it back on topic. Our current manager hasn't earnt any time though and has just dragged us backwards.

IF given the choice between Moyes and Benitez, which way would everyone go?

I`d have Moyes back in a heart beat, we need someone like him to build the club up again, only trouble is Moyes has made all his mistakes and getting a younger version will mean we need to make them all over again.

It was interesting seeing his interview today saying how he is much more positive these days, this West Ham side certainly shows that....

I don’t think Moyes will ever be back. Certainly doing a great job at West Ham though and I’d obviously take him over Benitez on this seasons showing. But sadly all wishful thinking.

No agenda here.
I thought Benetiz set up was poor, showed Hull little respect and if Hull had a decent goalie it could have been embarrassing.
Much of the game Godfrey, Keane and Coleman were isolated, there was none either side of them or in front. It was very easy for Hull to get past half the team with one pass and with acres of space to play in.
If he tries that tactic in the PL we'll probably get hammered,
so what was the point?

Mylo looked lost, I'm sure he has never played in such a system.
Gomes does what Gomes does and the set up suited him, but really is Alan meant to cover everything (again, we'll just get hammered playing like that)

Basically the defence was a 3-1 with 2 wb who didn't really know wtf they were meant to be doing, just trying to make the best of it.

Thanks god we had Gray.
And lests hope there is some method behind the madness.
Very lucky to win.

I'd take pretty much anyone over Benny right now, but it's easy to view Moyes through the West Ham lense and forget about the ~8 years inbetween. He took the champions to 7th, got Sunderland relegated, did nothing in Spain and got sacked once by his current employer. Had it not have worked out a second time at WH, he'd be being thought of like a Hughes / Pulis / Pardew: no future in the Prem. Hard for anyone to be a worse appointment than Benny though.

Was the system 343 yesterday? Thats what it looked like to me.

Think with a top drawer CM with energy and pace alongside Doucoure and a healthy Mina + CB coming in we could suit that going forward.

Would mean Richarlison or Gray having to move out to the right going forward though.

541 really. The wing backs rarely got forward. We needed 3 in midfield as well.

I think my point is out of anyone out there available there is no guarantees unless you are going for one of the top 3 or 4 in the world. Benitez is a has been whereas Moyes is still doing it and probably needed those experiences to shape the type of manager he is now.

I think the best signing of this window would be to boot Benitez out the door, no one in our history has performed worse. Why is this board backing the worst manager in our 143 year history. What do they get from it if Everton get relegated and the club implodes financially, we wouldnt survive relegation....
