Can anyone help me out here;

According to some, Brands was responsible for all the dross we signed while he was here. But Gray and Townsend, signed while he was here are evidence of great business by Benitez. Patterson and Mykolenko who we clearly identified and bid for under Brands, are, according to some, evidence of great business by Benitez.

It's a bit similar to when we win it's because Benny is a master tactician and superb coach/manager, but when we lose it's because these Championship-level snakes of players have decided to down tools yet again and deliberatly ignore every instruction he gives them (but still get picked again the next week).

Oh and injuries too. Almost forgot that one.

Imagine rocking up to FF as manager and being told the bloke above you has "gifted" you with the likes of Soloman Rondon, Sean Longstaff and whoever the center half at Beijing Rovers was - oh and '7th place is failure' or something.

All jokes aside, Benny would be appointing yes-men managers that do exactly what they're told, just like the type of player he wants. No other opinions permitted. He'd be all about what's best for him, not what's best for the cloob; all whilst sitting safe in his office for the next 10+ years, taking us for as many millions as he can.

I thought when we got Benitez in that we would at least stop conceding so many goals, but we haven’t kept a clean sheet since November and it’s not like Pickford has been awful (like in the past) or anything.
