The rot stops this weekend

I hope
You shouldn't have to hope. With this top class, astute manager, with injuries returning, new signings, playing against bottom of the league, who are fighting to be one of the worst teams the leagues ever had.

Sickening that even benitez supporters aren't confident about their man being able to get a win here.

For that reason alone he shouldn't shouldn't here.

That I agree with. I thought we were out of the woods with the Arsenal win but the Palace and Brighton games have put us back in the mire.

We should be beating a side like Norwich, but it's a must not lose game rather than a total must win game for me. Not that a draw would be good, but we need every point we can get and to stop the teams below us picking up 3..

Don't see how Moshiri doesn't sack him if we don't beat Norwich. Would be 1 win in 13 in the league and in free-fall. Norwich are comfortably the worst team in the league. Unless he actively wants us relegated, in which case keep him by all accounts.

I’m never confident about any Everton team winning any game ever, especially away from home.

Think the last time I had that feeling were some of Moyes’ best teams at home, against a bottom half side, you almost knew before we kicked off that if we had Arteta Pienaar Cahill etc. playing we’d just steamroll them.

I’m never confident away from home though, and since Moyes left we’ve seen all sorts turn us over at Goodison park as well.

So yes I expect us to win, I’m hopeful we will, but am I confident? Never with Everton.

Add the Rafael Benitez factor and that doubles your doubt

Genuinely feel for him with the El Ghazi situation, why on earth this is happening is beyond me.

But since what, maybe the Brighton away game, where we played some fluid football, and 3 in the middle, bringing the best out of Doucoure…

He’s reverted to some mental decisions, including playing Coleman at leftback and centre half whilst leaving respective positions on the bench and his insistence on playing Rondnn.
He’s not arsed, if he gets sacked (and he knows he can’t be sacked) he’s getting a huge pay off, so why be bothered.

Lowest I’ve felt about the club ever, and that’s 29 years of following now.
I'm quite glad this is the lowest you've felt following our club. Wish I could say the same thing. The 90's were 10 times worse apart from a far too short period under Big Joe Royal. How we stayed up, I still don't know. Was a time when we didn't even sign anyone for a couple of seasons.

But I agree if El Ghazi is a Chairman signing that the Manager doesn't want, then is one of the most stupid things ever. El Ghazi, won't play, so its a pointless loan. Although, under Moyes we often signed a player on loan in January that didn't play. At least its a loan and he might play instead of Iwobi. As for Raffa I he won't be here long, I think he'll leave at the end of the season. This time next year, we'll be calling for someone elses head. Seems to be the way things have gone for the last 6 years.

Sad to read the last sentence of his post, left with dignity intact whilst making his point. I'd bail out of Everton if I was a player at the moment whether I'd fallen out with the manager or not, car crash of a club.

Said the same in the Digne thread. At least he didn't wait around and rinse the club with the contract he's on. Saw he can't work with him, moved straight away.

He is like a bacteria and/or virus that spreads and kills you from within
That's absolutely right.

What I hate most is the divide and rule approach he's taken to the club. He's just setting off little tw*t bombs everywhere - with supporters, in the boardroom, in the dressing room. He's an incredibly destructive force.

It was clear at the time he was appointed he'd split the fanbase, but I'd no idea just how corrosive that divide would be.

It's like the Brexit vote - and the country is still a polarised mess nearly six years on from that.

I just can't see how he can stay without ruining the club. He has to go, there's nothing else for it.
