Boss man coming down hard on all the grifters at the club and the pips are beginning to squeak.

And dont forget this:

WE ALL WANTED A RECKONING WITH THIS SQUAD OF BOTTLERS WHO TOOK A KINGS RANSON IN WAGES AND GAVE F.A. BACK TO THE FANS.

All power to Benitez, as he's the man who's attempting to salvage and build from the utter catastrophe that Moshiri, Brands and Koeman landed us with.
What's your actual prediction for the Norwich game?

(Not just that a draw is allright as that's your feeling rather than prediction)

I feel confused a bit, on the one hand, I think the place did need ripping up top to bottom and getting our identity back. I have said often the players earn far far far too much money, a lot of them get paid more than their talent indicates they should and the last few years of half arsed performances have proper driven me insane and put me off football, a sport I've loved all my life until the last decade.

On the other hand the way it is being implemented, by the most divisive manager they could have chosen, Is absolutely mind bogglingly bad and could be disastrous if allowed to continue unchallenged. I'm already resigning myself to relegation, a tad hyperbolic but I am worried.

So as always we are doing the right thing the wrong way.

I'm not saying players don't need a kick up the arse and if they aren't committed to us then they should be volleyed, the problems arise if you have a manager with an ego and a bit of an attitude, that then in the long term can become a problem.
I agree with that but he's been here half a season and is clearly doing something different.
Long term for me would be next year. If we are still hovering around mid to lower in the table then I'd say it's not working and his revolution didn't work.
It all looks a mess up to now but I am willing to give his plan time.

It does but with an idea, philosophy, and a clear goal in where we're heading.

Not by someone who can't set a team up to defend a corner.

If it was the idea to rip and rebuild... someone like Graham Potter would've been more apt that a busted has been like Benitez

Lads I see what Dave is getting at.

We’ve all asked for ages for a manager who wouldn’t be walked all over and now we’ve got one we want exceptions making for “players we think are sound”.

Can’t have it both ways.

I rate Potter highly and advocated him on here in the summer, but frankly he would have been absolutely wasted here as things stand

Brighton are an exceptionally well-run club with a fantastic transfer strategy and run by very good football people with a coherent strategy. Potter is able to focus on his team and there's a clear division of responsibilities with the people they employ. They're not a huge club, so a lot of this goes under the radar but they are an excellent example of how to run a modern club.

We, on the other hand, are the polar opposite. The shambles we are is a model to the rest of football as to how not to run a club. As much as I like Potter, he'd have failed here miserably because of the same issues that have undermined every regime we've had in the last 7 years. Until that is addressed, it doesn't matter who the manager is, they'll fail, it's just shades of grey we are arguing about.

He's the chief troublemaker. If we were playing well and getting results his slash and burn approach to management might be worth it, but we're not and he's not so we have the worst of all worlds. The sooner he's gone the better.
Maybe he is but he's in charge so not a lot anyone can do.

Reading the Bernard quotes today says to me that others are to blame for the mess the club is in. I presume he is on about Kenwright.

Not "players we think are sound", players that are good at football. It's all well and good saying the number one factor a player must have is total and unquestioning obedience to the manager but if that results in a team of Rondons, Longstaffs and Townsends then we're not going to achieve a thing.

Nobody is trying to "have it both ways", they're just looking for a middle ground.

Who was the last manager who was “walked all over”? And by whom?
