I don’t know why but this morning I’ve been hit with a wave of optimism.

I have a feeling in my considerable gut that Rafael’s Everton are about to go on a good run if form and results.

Have I gone mad?

Yeah DCL, Richarlison and Mina back and a few fresh new faces in the dressing room now, we'll defo start picking up points again irrespective of the fact our manager is a turbo-whopper.

Potter has a clear goal as to how he wants his teams to play and would have been a progressive appointment

Heaven's knows what Benitez's long term tactical plan is

If we were struggling like this under him then there would be cries of disgruntlement, but I don't for a second think we would have been this bad under him, and even if we weren't great he wouldn't have had the baggage that Benitez brings with him and he would have likely been giving the likes of Gordon, Dobbin and Simms lots of chances to play and stake a claim

The people complaining most about someone like Potter would probably be the ones who love Benitez so much. The ones that demand every young player be culled if they aren't amazing every time out and don't have the patience for a manager with a clear stylistic plan who needs time to implement it

Potter is doing a very good job but tbf Brighton do have a structure in place that allows him to focus and thrive.

I can't help but feel a manager of Potter's ilk would just be set up to fail at Everton. Silva is a similar manager and is looking good again now at Fulham.

I think we're still a good couple of years from getting internal affairs sorted, bin Rafael at the end of the season. Get Ragnarick to come in and get us sorted for a year or 2 and then hopefully the club will be in a position hand the reigns over to a younger, more progressive dude.

It was a depressing unambitious appointment, by a clueless owner who's in way over his head.

The appointment of a negative minded kopite has been, who has a predisposition for conflict as manager, had disaster written all over at.

I have seen nothing and i repeat nothing, in the past couple of months to make me change my mind.
Never mind, don't get too depressed. How is the weather in Cork?

Well it is, people can criticise results that have occurred, and everyone has a different view on the reasons behind this, but being negative about games that haven’t happened yet is a bit much.
Based on signing a player Villa dont want, a player Celtic don't want and a lad trying to escape an impending war, hardly fills me with optimism!

But welcome to those lads and let's hope they bring us some joy.

I don't think we will see any change in Tapas useless formation, useless tactics, useless coaching and very very worrying period of results.

It needs to change but I fear it won't.

But you have to judge at 38 games thats my point.

Plenty of teams have had good 1st half a season then collapsed or vice versa Moyes had a few seasons like that here in his early days.

Understandable.

But I can't see an Everton future built in his image. That's not because he can't do it, it's just that it won't be any good IMO.

Worst case is that it sets us back another rebuild.

I agree with you, but can we see the board giving FSW the push, honestly.

Have said all I want about FSW, nothing more to say. I fear we are stuck and must await our fate come doomsday.

Be delighted for you to be right mate , its a big game tomorrow and they aren’t a great side . A win is absolutely essential but could be just what we need in terms of firing up the squad .

Doomsday! Long time since I saw that word. Doom and gloom hang like a shroud over us. The end is nigh as the green idiots keep telling us. Come on it ain't all that bad, is it?
See where we are in May, with a total clear out completed, and reassess the whole scene including the managerial position.

Im going to Killarney tomorrow for Cork City's pre season game rather then sit through another 90 mins of that turgid [Poor language removed] we will be served up
