I can't claim to have been one of the blues fans loudly backing their team on Saturday because I was not there. Health circumstances might mean I cannot go for a long time to come so I have joined the non match going group of GOT posters. I am curious to know if we are a majority on GOT, or do most GOT members go to the games? I am even more curious to know if any of the small so-called cult" folks go to the games?

Sorry your'e not to good health wise mate, wish you a speedy recovery. I'm a season ticket holder mate and I didn't want Benitez, but I've always said that if he does well then the club do well and that is all that matters to me but it doesn't mean I have to like Benitez, so don't know if that makes me a member of the cult.

I can push the straws towards you if you'd like.
I'm just saying that you class the cult as those who won't ever give him a chance.

Of which you are claiming there are 68 due to a poll you ran. But the poll didn't ask that, the poll said will you give him a chance, not will you ever give him a chance (so no option to change their mind or say they will be open to it in future).

I'm one of those 68, but I've already said I'll be more open to him if he achieves certain things. But do I think he should have a chance now? No, I still don't.

Just going to leave it now. People will never agree on things, which is good, or life would be boring.

There is little difference there though - if you wasn't willing to give him a chance before a ball had even been kicked then its unlikely many of those will ever give him a fair chance outside of some hypothetical situation such as winning a trophy or finishing in the top 4 which are both unrealistic with this current squad.

Would like to hear @windymiller thoughts on yesterday's game he's been awfully quiet after predicting Southampton to gulp us

And the use of cult, I'm assuming is meant to upset, offend, insult? I don't know but it's a loaded word and shouldn't just be used because people don't agree with you or are different from you.
Then you should have voted yes. Either your willing to give him a chance or not. Its a simple question. You are complicating things.

You can change it. There's still time for you.

What do you want? An option where it says i am not giving him chance unless he starts winning then ill consider giving him a chance? Don't be daft. That just means you are willing to give a chance but you a are a fickle hypocrite.

From what i gather you should have voted yes. REPENT

We only beat Southampton at home and there's Blues banging on like we've won a trophy

Long way to go before he's excepted here
We won that a few weeks ago. We are over that. We are now discussing a great days work of tacticianing that paid off got us 3 important opening day points. Then next week we start looking forward to what he can get out of these misfits v Leeds.

There is atleast 68 of them. I did a poll on this very site. A small sect. Hence the term cult.

Thank you for playing GrandOldTeam.com ... you've lost.
Marius is spot on about the word cult tho, the way youre using it doesnt really make sense. Being sceptical and wanting to see 'proof of quality' is about as far away from cult behaviour you can come. Terrible choice of words, even if it sounds 'cool' as an insult.

I said he wasn’t good enough and that he shouldn’t be our manager, but he’s here now and there’s not much I can do about it.

He has started off well. I hope he proves me wrong. I can’t see him winning the full fan base over unless he gets us back in to Europe. It’s a difficult target but if there’s one thing Benitez can do better than our last few managers it’s to instil a good work ethic and strong discipline. He clearly had a positive effect yesterday and he should be credited with that.

Jesus -H- Christ. Put away the scalpel the two of you. Its a term I am using to describe people not willing to accept him no matter what. They are a small sect with a strong unwavering unreasonable believe. Sounds right to me.

You are telling me your idea of what I mean by cult which is wrong and arguing against it. You're above straw manning people Nyhus.
