The fans can moan all they want mate Benitez wont give a damn and neither will the ownership. They need to drop the rebel without a cause act and realise he's here for at least the next 2 years.

This is not true tho, is it? If the fans boo and get on the players back the second something goes badly, weather it be because of terrible tactics or bad performances, it will affect moral and therefor the results in the long run, leading to the manager getting sacked if it goes bad enough. If all footballers were psychopaths with no care for peoples opinion, you would be right, but thats not how the world works. The owners dont care about the fans opinions, but they care about results and therefor also moral. Supporters can affect that and therefor also everything that goes with it.

Results only go bad if the manager isn't strong enough to keep control.

Fans were all over Alladyce yet he was strong enough to hold it together whereas Koeman and Silva fell to pieces.

He isnt the manager I wouldve gone for and Im still not on board with hiering him, but i also dont think hes a terrible manager. Im very confused with his choice to play Gray through the middle for the first half yesterday tho and honestly find it a bit concerning. Benitez did correct it in the second half ofc, but it was a strange decision. The square pegs in round holes-approach isnt unfamiliar to him, but its something i hoped he was past by now. Bringing two wingers in, starting both in the first game with the one least likely to score playing through the middle is just plain odd imho.

Sends them out and we grab a quick equaliser with one of his players he signed from the bargain bin assisting it. Not happy with that Ben sends on amateur Iwobi who has done nothing for us in his time here and he makes a big contribution to getting an assist on the winner and envolved in the 3rd.

These players have not come back from losing at HT in 5 years.

I also think it's doing yesterdays great result no justice labeling Southampton as crap, they are probably the equal of 12 other teams in the league. If we do the same to them as well and snag a few points off the big boys we are top 6 come next May, at least top 8. A great start whichever way you want to spin it.
