I don’t actually have a problem with who he started with - Allan, Gray Doucoure can’t play every game or they will pick up games so you have to change players - that’s why teams have 25 in the squad.
The main problem is that after the first 11 the majority of them are pure rubbish - an embarrassment actually for a club of our size.
Gomes, Davies, Iwobi, Kenny, Rondon - all our main back ups to starters and all rubbish.

You can say that all day long and we wouldn’t know the outcome, then when we play Saturday it’s why did he play them in the cup.

I am not going to even attempt to defend that tonight. He lost us the game before it even started with a baffling and downright arrogant team selection that bit him up the ass and inflicted embarrassment on a very sick of being embarrassed fan base.

He took a striker off and played Iwobi up top. Just play gray and Doucs and we win that game.
I agree 100% that brands and moshiri are mostly at fault here. What brands has done to the squad is criminal.
But Benitez set that team up with our two least experience cb’s and his journeyman lug up front. He isn’t blameless in tonight.
