Of course he should be praised, we havent seen quality in game management for years, Carlo was incapable of it, even in his Chelsea days he was known for it, Rafael pulled something special off.
Ancelotti nailed his game management in the first half of his time here. All of a sudden he seemingly lost all ability to do so. Come to think of it most managers we have had have came in and done that only to turn weirdly stubborn and clueless after a while.

See he tried something and fixed it. That's a credit to him and not a stick to beat him with. Literally first game in charge of these crab misfits. Took him 45 minutes to suss the situation. In game management. Tweaked the defense around and tweaked the attack. Got the equaliser. And instead of sitting on his behind and think 'great my plan worked we got an equaliser.', he then made a quick sub and it worked and got us the winner and another. In terms of manager performances of multiple passed everton managers. It was top notch Mr manager.
Like the fact I am able to break down a managerial performance like that. In the passed it would be. Picked crap team. Went 1 down. Did nothing for 70 minutes. Made head scratching very late subs.

Proper made up for Rafá after the abuse he and his family have taken the last few weeks. Hopefully we can just build a bit of consistency and push a European spot.

We really wasn't, they were all over us without creating an awful lot. Their winger constantly got into great positions only to lose his head with the final ball
They looked toothless until Keane messed up and they gained a bit of confidence. Happens to us quite often that. Up to that point we were more than comfortable.

Djenepo caused his problems in the second half not the first mainly when chasing the game. We put some good crosses in that were not capitalized on either. It was a perfectly fine performance.

Last season was decent, we were in contention for a European place all through, we fell away badly at the end but let's not completely rewrite history.

I do agree with you, but the history books show we finished 10th, and slumped out of cups, again.

We completely collapsed, and while we did show some good stuff early days, it ended up meaning NOTHING.

Do you know I'm not sure.
I acknowledge that he's a competent manager ( even if I don't like the style of football that he played at Newcastle) but I don't think that I can ever feel any warmth towards him.
Of course I hope that he brings us success. It would be great but in all honesty I don't see it. That said at present he is undoubtedly being hamstrung by Brands / FFP / the board.
Nice honest reply jazzy, and to be be fair many people start off not liking someone, at least that’s a feeling, and then fall in love with that person, just saying like jazzy!!

I know he said some things in the past which is difficult to forgive but I want the best for our beloved team and I think Rafael will do a better job at Everton more than Carlo, Carlo is an amazing coach one of the greats but he always was with a prime teams AC Milan, Lishitpool, Bayern, Real Madrid and Rafael even with Newcastle when they got promoted back to the prem he was doing decent job the only thing he didn't extended his contract because the Newcastle owners wasn't willing to invest unlike wise our owners!

Let's hope for the best mates!
