Well European games are technically the same as cup games midweek in between two rounds of league fixtures.

So by definition if you accept we would rotate players in europe you have to accept we will do it in the early rounds of the cups against lower opposition.

At what point are people going to accept Godfrey and Holgate are not our best defenders? They were abysmal last night and are enormously overrated on here.

Both of them were considered starters at some point last season, people have just as many reservations about Mina and Keane. I would probably say Godfrey and Mina is our best pairing but then Godfrey has not had a great start.

Why are our players incapable of playing twice a week. They are paid more than enough. They should be able to play 3 times a week.

Mason Mount made 54 appearances last season plus England games, so probably around 65 in total.
But Gray and Doucoure who don’t even play internationals can’t play about 3 league cup games?

Well Chelsea have a squad full of world class talent meaning if Mason Mount gets injured its all good.

If Allan plays 54 games and his hammie burts its Tom Davies or Fabian Delph taking his place.

Well we have been in the relegation spots under 2 of our last 3 managers mate so maybe our manager fancies keeping his job which depends on the likes of Davies and Kenny etc kept away from the team for as much as possible!

They were only considered starters by some because they were overhyped too quickly. I'm not writing off Godfrey because he has scope to improve, but his start to the season has been extremely poor. Holgate I just don't think is good enough.

People will keep arguing I'm wrong, but our best two defenders are Mina and Keane by a huge distance.
