I think we are transitioning a lot better under Benitez, we are able to get it up the pitch a lot snappier. Stands to reason also with two quick wingers that teams will not press so high or in as great a number, as if we can spring that trap we would be away with a good chance to score.

This is the fundamental change between last season and now.

We've scored 3 goals from 'direct attacks' - more than any other team in the league - so it's definitely the aim of the game.

The Manager will be telling the players he fully expects 12 points.

Fair chance he'll get them too.

The Team (no doubt about it, they're a team this season) is more than capable, particularly when all fit.

Defo capable, but just don't wanna underestimate Spurs as they have 2 match winners in Kane and Son, West Ham are a similar unit to us at the minute. Need to be beating Watford and Wolves of course though.

All 3 are tricky ties on paper

West Ham will sit back with a back 3 and try nick one on the break / from a set piece

Watford will have new manager bounce

Wolves its an evening game under the lights at the Molyneux

I would say 6 points would be very good return.

Beggars belief init mate:

Begovic - Hologram
Longergan - Almost old enough for a free bus pass
Kenny - At best he was an okay RB for bottom half Bundesliga team, at worst couldn't even cut it in the Scottish League
Davies - Mid-table prem player
Gbamin - Made of glass
Holgate - Mid-table prem defender
Branthwaite - Young and unproven
Dobbin - Even younger and more unproven
Whitaker - Who?

That said I do think we can challenge for Europe this season, think we'll need to be lucky with injuries and certainly look to address the right-back issue in Jan at the very least for us to make it all the way though.

Charlie Whitaker - classify under “ Even more younger, even more unproven than Dobbin” . He’s just turned 18 , an attacking midfielder who can score goals, play across the front positions and happy to track back and put in tackles . A bit scrawny , will hopefully fill out a bit , not ready yet to start at PL level but nice to see him getting on the bench.

Would be very disappointing to lose more than one of those four games but I take your point that none of them will be easy games.

I am still worried about kev the rat. Is he ok? I hope Everton's excellent performances under Rafael have not discombobulated him totally. I haven't heard how he is coping with this unwelcome situation. At least Lord Bucketbonce has surfaced again. Give him credit for that. Rafael Benitez !!!!!!!Whoo Whoo..

Delusional. Unreasonable. Crazy.

'You praise the manager too much' is all they've got.

But the shouts coming out from them during this Benitez era are all kinds of wrong on all kinds of levels week in week out.

He's eating cheese on toast in the poll. @JimmyJeffers sent him a dic pic and it tore down his walls.

What’s with all the division in here?

he’s got off to a decent start, let’s see how it goes. Does it need to be any more simple than that?

some people don’t like him and feel the need to tell us this information every waking moment, that says more about them as individuals, poor souls.

I think you’ll find this forum is 95% posts wanking him off, 4% not arsed posts and 1% posts disliking him.

I fit into none of those categories, like many others I’ve read. Like many others I just think he’s doing a decent job so far so let’s see where it goes.
So you are clearly missing out the reasonable people in your fictional summary.

Okay I’ll drop it down to 94% posts wanking him off. You’d think we were on RAWK reading GOT these days. It’s gross.
