Im just not a Kultist expecting the manager given £1.7m budget to have the same squad thats finished 8th, 8th, 12th and 10th to suddenly be fighting for top 4 with their two best players and only goal threats outside of a Townsend blammo out injured.

Whats the excuse gonna be when the next manager after Benitez fails here? and the one after that?

The squad was chasing top 6 up until 5 games to go. Its easy blaming the players, its up to these managers to in still belief and stop making excuses.

We are unlucky with injuries but we didnt deserve the win I've already said that.

Manager / players / DOF all take the blame but you only want to pick out the "FSW" not the GK who cant catch a ball or the wide player who missed a sitter or the DOF who has left us with a threadbare squad of rubbish.

We seen a classic Everton performance today solid at the back plenty of grit passing, belief and passion for 90+mins unfortunately it was our former managers team who run through Benitez lack of ingame management and stubborness to make changes during game. Old Everton beat new Everton today simple.

I think with what he has at his disposal Rafael has done a great job thus far....BUT, how the hell he plays Iwobi is beyond me. The worst player i'v seen play for Everton.

The problem is our fans have unrealistic expectations of where this squad is.

We are miles away from being a team good enough to finish top 6 when we have 2-3 starting 11 players missing particularly in one area of the pitch.

No DCL + Richarlison = we cant score

No Doucoure + Allan = slow / powderpuff midfield

No Mina + Keane = bombscare defence

No Digne + Coleman = makeshift back line.

The squad just isn't good enough to cope.

The under 23's is league one/two standard.

Massive jump from that to playing against players like Zouma/Ogbonna two bricks who are international quality shielded by another two bricks in Soucek and Rice.

Its just drunk arl da talk who've never played football to any half decent level who come out with nonsense like "just play the kids they must be better than this galoot".

Rondon would struggle in the under 23 league.

Antonio is better than Rondon

Soucek and Rice as a pairing are better than Doucoure and Allan

Behrama / Bowen are better than Iwobi and Gordon

Their defence is better bar Mina + Digne although on form Cresswell is better than Digne this season.

Their entire bench is stronger than ours with the likes of Vlasic and Yarmolenko and they haven't had an injury crisis to deal with.

So basically only Gray, Townsend, Pickford and possibly Doucoure I would have as upgrades on them man for man today (ironically two of the four are Benitez signings) - but apparently we should be beating them easily...

Big big losses dcl and Ritchie out but his setup and lack of substitutions was shocking today even those that like him would have to admit it. Sticking with that carthorse upfront all game is unexplainable at no point did he look like he could do anything. Moyes was always able to get results with what little he had remember cahill and fellaini as strikers.Everyone knew their roles under Moyes even if they were playing out of position they were well drilled in other roles.

Ye got to agree with most I liked moyes ,but he brought cahill and so forth in, this fella only brought a couple in surely you've got to agree our bench today was poor, gonna give him the benefit of the doubt no ones perfect especially him
