^100% this, some dont like the small club comment, we used to laugh about clubs winning nothing, 27 years, it's truly embarrassing and the epitome of a small clubsooner we get rid of the 1995 factor the better
i really can't see us making Europa this season anyway so why not go for the league cup, we might finish 12th instead of 9th, oh well
Cant wait to see how Benny does against the mighty Potterball this weekend.
Could be a clash of the ages
Other then crosses to Dom, which you don’t need a tactical genius for, we played well on those rare occasions when one of our playmakers could make slide rule passes through the lines. Otherwise we labored. Since the playmakers in question were James. and he who shall not be named, both of whom are not currently in the lineup, snd we have the likes of Townsend Gray and Douc with a brief to get forward, it looks and just feels so much better than those passes that alllllmost but never quite came off, I think.I didn't want him one bit, but from what I've seen of the two matches so far he clearly knows what the fans want to see on the field and it's got us 4 points from 6 so far. I was listening to Guardiola after yesterday's City match and he said something like that he didn't want his players running as much, as he wanted the ball to do the work. I doubt our players are up to the passing quality of City currently, so we have to try to unlock teams with pace. Too many previous managers have tried to teach them to play a passing game and failed miserably. Clearly our (bad language removed in advance) defence needs major work though.
Laughable response from some, 1 half decent 45 mins against a rubbish Saints team and threw away a lead twice against the 'mighty' Leeds who had a midfielder not fit playing and suddenly the FSW is the new messiah. Lol

I can equally throw it back at you that if we win we’ll have lots of posts about how he’s tactically mastered him and that potter and his open football would absolutely have relegated us . Also If we draw it’s a great result , part of a masterplan building a momentum that you’d be mad to complain about . Oh and if we lose he’s only just took over , has had no money whilst potter has had time to settle himself in .I’ll predict now that if Benitez wins it doesn’t mean anything, whereas is Potter wins we should have hired him and Brighton will have irreversibly overtaken Everton and we are in a dark age of football and one of the worst teams in the league. Something like that.
