He doesn't.
The division is down to the board not benitez.

The division is down to the board's decision to appoint Benitez yes. But the only way that is resolved is by admitting it was a mistake and finding a unifying manager.

It's not like Benitez has shown any tactical ability in any case. The defending this season has been truly shambolic.

He is the owner, he has the final say. I don't see what impact fans are going to have on a clearly out of touch owner. If he is happy to go against the support by appointing Benitez then I doubt he cares about a few critical remarks to the directors box at Goodison.
This x1000. Boggles my mind when people think billionaire businessmen care what they think, especially when those who are critical of him/Rafael still turn up and pay their money every week.

If things keep going tits up mate then Goodison can become a very toxic place. Right by me in the Gladwys street on Saturday there were lads nearly coming to blows so you would like to think the board etc would have to sit up and take notice if things carried on.

Thats more down to Evertonians and Blue Geordies coming to blows which is what happens regardless of the manager.

I still dont see us being sat in 8th with no DCL, Richarlison, Mina and Doucoure out as being worthy of the fume over the weekend - disgraceful result but one we've seen under numerous managers with the same squad of garbage.

I keep saying it but replace Benitez with whoever Thomas Frank - we go 1 win in 6 when injuries kick in and Davies, Gomes, Iwobi et al start playing games from the off and the in/oot factions always form.

I don't know if you get to the game mate but take it from me it is down to the manager, when he took Gordon off there was toxic verbal all over the gaff aimed at Benitez, it was the same at the end of the game and we're not talking of a few 'Geordies' here.

I've seen just as much toxicity aimed at Martinez, Silva, Koeman, I've seen people screaming fat expletives at Alladyce.

Goodison is great when its going well - win 1 in 5 and the vultures are out for you always been the way and has been worse since Moshiri came along and expectations risen with people thinking we were going to be the next Man City.

But what do you want them to actually do? Zero questions should be asked about Rafael at board level right now, not while we are 8th after 9th games. What the board should be asking is why is the squad so bad, question Brands, qustion the fitness, but you cant question the manager.
These lads coming to blows is nothing to do with the manager, but more to do with what knobheads they are. Even in my opinion he did make a big error at the weekend, but the problems run much deeper then one terrible substitution

We all know that dross he is working with, the lack of a squad he's been given by brands, the stupid injuries we have.

I don't even think people are throwing brickbats at Benitez because Michael Keane is a coward, Coleman is finished, digne can't defend very well, iwobi is a fraud etc, but every Evertonian should be fuming at what we witnessed on Saturday, and Benitez is a big part of that, no matter how much you try and tell yourself none of it was his fault?

The bricknats come from his tactics, especially set pieces and his subs, which were farcical and substandard. Then to continue to persist with Rondon for another 90 mins is just folly from him - surely you must agree?

I don't think he was the best choice for us, I think he's been finished as a top manager for a number of years, but I always said I would give the man a chance and I still will, as log as he moves his ego aside and addresses what he can address (coaching/set piece defending/substitutes/bloody rondon) - currently he isn't even controling the controlables, and thats where much of the frustration is coming from - you must recognise this?

Your blind loyalty to Benitez just comes across a bit strange tbh.

As mentioned in another thread, the fan base was toxic in 82, its nothing to do with Rafael, it would of been last season if we were allowed in, Smith had it too, Moyes not so much

Oh I agree there has been just as much toxicity aimed at the managers you mentioned, in Benitez's case though he brings the baggage of been an ex RS manager so if things continued to go tits up then that will play a big part.

Moshiri was by all accounts, the only member of the board that wanted Benitez. But it’s his train set so he got his own way of course. The man is a threat to this club.

That’s a very fair point mate. We’re often conceding 5 goals at home to one of the absolute worst teams in the league. Something everybody else is obviously forgetting.
