But what do you want them to actually do? Zero questions should be asked about Rafael at board level right now, not while we are 8th after 9th games. What the board should be asking is why is the squad so bad, question Brands, qustion the fitness, but you cant question the manager.
These lads coming to blows is nothing to do with the manager, but more to do with what knobheads they are. Even in my opinion he did make a big error at the weekend, but the problems run much deeper then one terrible substitution

I agree we're a shambles from top to bottom.

That’s a very fair point mate. We’re often conceding 5 goals at home to one of the absolute worst teams in the league. Something everybody else is obviously forgetting.

Forget the amount of goals its the capitulation that is the sign of a weak mentality in this group of players.

We were 2-0 cruising against Steve Bruces hapless Newcastle at 90 minutes and finish the game 2-2.

Thats just as bad because at least with the Watford game we got caught on the counter chasing the winner once they pegged us back level whereas this game we just had to see the game out for a couple of minutes and do the basics.

Spin it how you want but no amount of mental gymnastics makes that Newcastle result 'just as bad' as the Watford one.

I think everyone agrees that Benitez was not an ideal appointment for Everton. Is he outdated, has he lost his passion, is he a good manager? We may disagree / agree, but a selection of 9 matches does not exactly give any definite answers.

Right now we are in 8th place in the league. It is not a disaster, although the match against Watford can be described as that.

Actually, the situation is completely normal. We are not among the worst, nor are we among the best. So what people are complaining about is that nothing abnormal has happened, especially in a positive sense.

I think people will be far happier if they orient themselves to reality. As long as we do not get a very large bag of money, and / or get leaders who are extremely innovative, then this will be the norm season after season.

But this one finished 5-2? In no way, shape or form is 2-2 just as bad.

But it is - because no team that capitulates in either manner wins trophies which is what we all want.

Digne - fault for the first goal Just has to keep pushing his man wide who was going nowhere with the ball yet he decides to lunge in like an idiot and gives them the free kick that they score from.

Tom Davies - just has to control the ball and play it out or boot it up the field but dicks around with it and they get a cheap corner they score from

Michael Keane - all over the place as usual, bullied by Josh King, not winning the 1st headers - atrocious. Soon as there is a groan in the ground his head is in Vauxhall and not Goodison.

Godfrey - dont like to slate the lad as he's obviously struggling with having had COVID but not good enough.

Coleman - just not got the legs anymore to make up for his poor end product.

Thats 4 of your 6 defenders / holding midfielders.

Put Harry Potter in the dugout and crap like that and at Newcastle and against Spurs and against Man City and against Utd and against Leicester and against Villa happen time after time.

I mean you can write as many words as you want mate, paragraph after paragraph of analysis doesn't change the fact that you're wrong, crack on though.

You're right about leaving the manager out of things.

I think as fans we need to make it clear that we just want answers as to what are certain people are bringing to the table.

- Kenwright and co. are at best only fit to serve ambassadorial roles and should be nowhere near decisions on signings, hirings, recruitment etc...
- Kenwright's time at the club has overseen our most barren spell, failed stadium moves and top talent being sold to other clubs. While there may have been extenuating circumstances for all of these, and while there was some good things in there also, why are a lot of people sticking around when the club needs to change with the times.
- How has the club failed to recruit a Right-Back for over 4 years?
- What is Brands role? Who is to blame for us lacking very basic squad depth in certain positions?
- What have the likes of Ferguson and Unsworth done to justify their continued employment at the club? (This is from someone who likes Dunc at the club btw, just think questions need to be answered)

@GrandOldTeam is right - I think Moshiri has showed that he will listen to the fans if the voices are loud enough.

You can still go to Goodison every other week and get behind your team while still not liking the manager and the regime and or having serious questions about the direction the club seems to be going in.

He might be an ideal appointment for us. Which manager would be better suited? If we go with a manager who has a philosophy and will not pragmatically adapt to the absolute glaring weaknesses in the squad then we’d probably go down. We could easily have another Koeman also just here for a check who couldn’t give one, or maybe an Unsworth or Ferguson who are too romantically nostalgic about Everton to fix what needs to be fixed, or maybe a young manager who doesn’t have the experience to tell Moshiri to stop interfering or to drop players who need to be dropped.

Instead we have a manager who can at least keep the ship steady enough to allow us time to fix what is patently broken at Everton. I’m glad we’re getting all these glaring issues out now, far better than singing spirit of the blues whilst we continue to carry the worst medical and recruitment departments in the league.

Benitez needs to burn this place to the ground and start again, he’s just the sort of obstinate bloke who will do it as well. He might end up being perfect man perfect time for the club if the fan base can get over petty partisanship and recognise we’ve been awful for the best part of a decade and someone needs to fix it.

Given Benitez's background, he was never the ideal employment. My point is that after 9 games in the series, it is too early to conclude. An average Everton team has had a completely average opening of the season.

5-2 is worse than 2-2. You get 1 point for a 2-2 scoreline for a start.

I can't believe I'm actually having to type this.

You were asking last night had I looked at the club's accounts as well!!

Again you're looking at the result not the capitulation itself!!!

Conceding 4 goals in 15 minutes against conceeding 2 goals in 2 minutes.

There is no difference "Oh Mr Benitez you bad boy Carlo's boys only capitulated the 2 goals not the 4".

Thats bollocks - its the same suspects under both managers that are architects of the capitulation and they are what need removing from the club not the manager who cant stop Davies dicking around on the edge of his own box or having to hold a counselling session with Michael Keane as Josh King takes him into #metoo territory.

Of course they are both terrible results, but they are different levels of terrible. It's not hard to understand.
