I think what @LouReedwalkonthewildside says is absolutely right - the problem isn't the objective reality, but the perceived reality - which is amplified massively by who Benitez is.

I honestly don't know how long rationality can hold... if these 2 defeats turn into 3 or 4, Benitez could be toast very quickly.

Unless we get dragged in to a lower half struggle\relegation fight I doubt he'll be under too much pressure from the board or 'majority' of fans. It's not like the board have loads of money to 1. sack him or 2. give to a new manager to spend, so it'd be stupid to sack him prematurely just based on a few people losing their heads, as they don't like him.

If you were told 2years ago our next 2 managers would be Ancelotti and Benitez you would have had whoever told you taken away by fellas in white coats.

We had an injury crisis last season but the people using that as an excuse now because they love this manager, won't let that be used as an excuse for the previous manager.

Ancelottie used us as a filler until a 'proper'job came along. Amusing to see two failed Everton managers fighting out the biggest game in Spain. Shows how short term and short of imagination football is.
