We won our first seven games under Uncle Carlo
We got beat by City in his 3rd game and the Liverpool u18’s in his 4th game.

I didn’t want Benitez anywhere near but I’m encouraged with the style of play in the past game and a half. Early days for sure but he’s trying to address things in that squad that Carlo didn’t in 18 months i.e. pace and width.

Not getting carried away at all but as long as the team is playing well, I’ll be happy.

I think he has a bit of a soft spot for them I some ways, but also sense he is quite resentful at how they hounded him out when he left. Probably partially why he has pushed so hard for this job.

I also think hes a fairly unemotional man, maybe one who's even on the spectrum. He wants to do the best job he possibly can, and takes emotion out of it.

Today, I thought he got the better of Bielsa as well.
Is he unemotional? Didn't he cry in the press unveiling when he joined Real Madrid? And he seems to have a very strong emotional attachment to the city. Personally, I think that’s the main reason he pushed for this job. I don’t know if he’s on any type of “spectrum” - that’s a really difficult call and confirmation usually requires a very comprehensive assessment by a specialist agency - but he’s clearly able to be very professional at work and leave emotions out of work, more likely purposefully though IMO than because of a neuro-diverse make up.

You said his first 7 games so was just correcting that. Not sure why you’ve listed this seasons fixtures?? Some very winnable games there so hopefully we’ll keep this form up and pick plenty of points up.

If you’re comparing them to last seasons first 7, we had Salford, West Brom and Fleetwood in the first 4 fixtures.

As I say, let’s hope we can keep picking points up with a far better style of play than the dross we’ve had to watch for the past few seasons.

Last season we beat Liverpool, Arsenal & Spurs away and did well against them at home also. It is the Sheff Utd, Fulham & Newcastles at home which tells me we were unable to get up for these games. As long as we can beat who we expect to beat and hope for the odd win against the so called big clubs then we are in for a good season. Each game has to have work ethic and be treated like a cup final. Under estimate any team in the PL and we will lose. I actually believe we under estimated quite a few teams at Goodison last season which was criminal

He's not a Kopite.

He's got no allegiance to any club. He'd burn Anfield to the ground to get another 3 points.
