I do and so do a lot of othersWithout wanting to be rude and emphasising that we are indeed thankful for Ramiro, but nobody cares about other River Plate players here.

For those that have an interest
Baravero is a top keeper in South America but probably would not suit premier as his weakness is high crosses a rarity in Argentina
Kranevitter at Central midfield is top class already an Argentina international and will succeed Mascherano.
On his right is Carlos Sanchez the motor of River and Uruguay. The full backs Mercado and Vangioni are very good the latter much better than Rojo at Man Utd
The centre forward Lucas Alario currently injured has massive potential some compare him to Crespo while right side center back Maidana at thirty is more effective than either Ramiro or Balanta on the left.
Lucho González and Javier Saviola are both 33 now and doing some work off the bench the midfield player doing better.
He's the one who will be moving to Atletico in January isn't he? Apparently he's a lot better on the ball than Mascherano as well - more of a deep lying playmaker as well as a holding player?
Oh and Lucho Gonzales. Those were the days, for any Blues who remember when we thought we'd signed him. Think it was around 2007, shortly before the Moutinho hype.
Well he's been both, so this thread's sound taIf you want to talk about the Argentinian league/River Plate and their players, I suggest you go start a thread.
Ramiro Funes Mori people...

For River Plate's prospects though...
- Emanuel Mammana is a very highly rated young centre half and has been linked with Atletico the best part of 12 months so expect some movement there January/Summer.
- Augusto Batalla is an exciting young goalkeeper but I believe there is some deal in principle for him to go to Real Madrid at some point.
- Giovanni Simeone & Sebastian Driussi have been earmarked as future starters for River but I'm not sure how far they'll get in Europe or with the national team.
At the moment the best youth talent in Argentina is coming through at Boca (Cubas, Calleri, Bentancur, Pavon etc.) however there seems to be some weird sort of "dibs" agreement set up where Juventus get first refusal on their players as part of the Tevez/Vadala deal. Racing Club and Velez used to bring through a lot of talent but not many stand out players of late except Lucas Romero and those that already left for Europe: Vietto (Atletico), De Paul (Valencia), Zuculini (Man City), Ricardo Centurion (Sao Paulo), Yacob (West Brom) as well as oldies like Diego Milito and Lisandro Lopez.
No I'm not Tim Vickery, no I don't play FIFA that much, I just like watching Argentinian/Brazilian football.
nice mate! but surely you must get bored to death watching our league. augusto batalla rejected the offer from the RM castilla, and giovanni simeone is a dog (like we say here to a really bad player).
about those "youth talent" you say coming through boca maybe calleri could be a good prospect but the others you mention mmm, let me disagree.

Nah I don't watch loads so it's not too bad, mainly watch it for the awesome atmospheres and the commentators when they score haha. Yeh I've read a lot about Simeone being limited but just shot up because of his goals for the Argentina U17's (?).
Calleri is the most advanced but I think Cubas could prove to be the best. Probably too small and slight for England though.
It's too early to say if Balanta is mentally weak the same used to be said about Batistuta,,Rogelio,Conca etc at River but they didn't too bad when they left.River is one of the most demanding places on earth to play which is why the likes of Alexis,Lanzini and Ramiro have settled quickly in a league that's very different.
tomorrowLooking forward for his bullet header from a corner some day soon.
