I have to admit ignorance with regard to Evertons training set up but I would be of the opinion that at River under the new president the set up is absoulutely top class.River has its own sports university granting degrees in all types of sports development.Where Funes Mori will gain in my opinion is in playing a completely different type of football and hopfully be part of an Everton team that plays the Champions league. That is what will decide if he really improves at Everton and from an Argentine point of view will determine whether he is national team regular or squad player. In my view only the top three in Spain,Bayern,Juve,PSG and a couple from the premier league is superior to River or Boca.

Funes Mori has impressed me with his aerial ability above everything else, it seems Martinez is able to see frailties after all...And this is to the Argie lads, although he was a Boca legend, how good was Juan Roman Riquelme?

not that bummed if Stones leaves

we could use the money for a new GK and anyone but Gareth Barry making the starting line up everytime ffs

so much wrong with this statement. Firstly Stones leaves?? Really, one of the best ball playing young centre backs coming through and you do not mind if he goes??

Secondly, i'm not getting the Barry hate, been one of our better players this season...fact!

Have a lay down son, you have had a mare!

Two good points.

As a River fan I hated him more than most but as a football fan he is a legend. He was the last of the old school enganches the player who is always there to receive and then distribute. As a kid himself and Aimar were sensational together in the 97 world youth cup. Despite the River Boca rivalry, the struggle for Argentinas no 10,they remain great friends.Riquelme or Tristelme as River fans called him just got better and better. His imagination was wonderful and he could execute a killer pass nobody else in the stadium could see.It was such a pity that the 2006 World cup which was being his saw him substituted when Argentina were beating Germany in the quarter final.
Have a look at Los mejores asistencias de Riquelme on you tube.I hated every one but wow.
Another one is Bajonazo de Riquelme on you tube and look at Cambiasso goal in that 2006 World cup v Serbia where Roman as the Bosteros called him was involved four times.
I would love to see someone like him or el Beto Alonso Rivers great enganche of the seventies and eighties in the number ten white shirt with the red band crossing the heart.

Nice one mate I'll check them out on you tube ,I remember seeing him do a double back heel style turn right on the touchline, he just seemed a fantasy player. Riquelme el diez perfecto !

Superb post: balanced, magnanimous and respectful, and superlatives even though they're about your biggest rivals. You're in good company on here (there are similar 'guest' members who support other teams such as Leicester, Sunderland, Palace to name but a few), and how we hope/believe us Evertonians are considered by others. I hope you hang around.

Gracias amigo very kind words football can be stupidly vindictive but no matter how great the rivalry we should respect the other guy.I would love to see a great traditional club such as Everton move back to where they belong with one of our pipes(kids)playing a part.As an old fashioned guy I could not say that about Chelsea or City with their money men distorting everything.

I really think that opinion is way off the mark. From River at the moment, I would fancy the goalie and Carlos Sanchez, Alario is a fine player but not better than Mirallas. And I struggle to put a River player in after that. Look at Boca - Cata Diaz was clapped out two years ago and was a stalwart of the title winning team. Tevez apart, not too many set the pulse racing. The quality is poor. Argentina is a football superpower that exports too much too early.

Valid points, but let's not forget that Stones handed in a transfer request around August of this year. Let's not forgot him jumping over the ball vs Burnley (maybe it was just a "mistake" or he wanted Barnley to score still wtf). Any player that hands in a transfer request even if its fueled behind by their agent is shady to me. Yes, he is very composed and talented no doubt about that. But if chelsea are willing to drop more than 40 million on such a young CB. I'm sure other rich clubs must be also having a sniff and maybe are willing to offer more.

Gareth barry as experienced and well composed as he appears on the ball is not getting any younger. He is the king of the yellow cards because his pace is close to none.
