What really concerned me about Vickey's comments is what he said about Martinez... and i loosely quote...

"I hope i'm wrong but the last player that I thought was this bad prior to being signed was the Argentinian striker Mauro Boselli, also a Martinez buy. We all remember how every 6 months Martinez would tell us how he was going to come good and we all know how that worked out"

As I've said previously it's 5M. Worst case we can probably sell him back for 3. No biggie.

No, if he really is that bad the worst case scenario is he is responsible for the conceding of vital goals in vital games....:(

Everton have agreed a £5 million fee with River Plate for Ramiro Funes Mori, a defender, and are considering a move for Andrea Ranocchia, the Inter Milan centre back, in the event that John Stones leaves for Chelsea.

Don't know if already posted. Isn't The Times the most reputable source?

Those days are long gone, Mike.

The Times lost its credibility when it became one of Murdoch's mouthpieces.

Really hacked off with the press over the last few years every time there is a whiff of our guys being unsettled or a club sniffing about the journos have it in the headlines that they are virtually sold-------Baines, Mirallas,McCarthy even Lakaku and they are all still here, we need another top centre back regardless of the the Stones speculation.

This is it.

Fortunately we all know two centre backs were needed even if the Stones saga never raised its ugly head.....even if the lazy journos in Fleet Street don't.
Yeah, we may try and get away with only signing one if they think that Galloway and Browning are good enough and signing another would hold them back long term. Everyone knows we need at least one though.
