Watched a bit of the Celtic game last night, Van Dirge struggled against the part time Swedish players.

It was a big step up from playing against Scottish fodder he usually plays against. Someone on five live the other week made a good point about him, it was something like this " Of course he is going to look good for Celtic in the SPL, teams play one striker so he is allowed to stroll around the pitch. Watch him in European games, he is found wanting "

I think his deal to Southampton is all but sewn up. If we did come in, it'd be a spur of the moment thing now and would develop fast.

90% sure he's going to Southampton though.

I think what the manager was saying is that teams set up to defend when they play Celtic so he is able to stroll around the pitch.

I've only seen him play in Europe a few times, I'm not overly impressed with him. Anyway, it seems he is going to Southampton. Johny Evans it is.

In those youtube vids people have posted it is surreal some of the advances positions he is in - doubt he'd be allowed to do that in the prem, think just his athleticism in conjunction with how poor some of the opposition is gives him free reign to run out with the ball.

And if he did try it we'd boo it out of him.

Last I had heard from work he had been granted his special talent permit so it strikes me as odd that the club have been silent on it. Unless they are wanting to do a double unveiling? Wishful thinking!

I read a post, don't know who by now, that said Pienaar was on a flight to America (MSL) LOL !!
