i remember people saying that after heysel as well. it may be true, i know all clubs have a wide range of different people that follow them, but i do think the culture of one club does differ from another, so i feel that the followers of some clubs may be more likely to get involved in this sort of disturbance than others. it could happen to just about any club, but there are some clubs where the odds would be a bit shorter.
 
You have to laugh at Rangers doing a Liverpool and blaming absolutely anyone other than their own fans.

Sure, it may have been a minority, but it was a big, big minority of Rangers fans.
 
rangers = scottish team

i refuse to be bracketed with them and seeit as their problem, i will correct anyone who calls them british as opposed to scottish as they have done when englands fans have caused trouble and been called british.
i have also defended some of the videos where in my opinion fans have been knocking the trouble makers into line. rangers and scotlands problem so keep it that way.

agree with that a friend of mine went and said at least half where english and some he was talking too did not even know any of the players in the rangers team

as long as they are called british then it will affect us,
i dont know anyone who would buy a rangers shirt to go for a brawl and they were all in rangers kits so basically they are rangers as far as i'm concerned.
not posting on this thread again as sick of trying to justify my point of view after defending what looked like genuine fans to me, only to be met with shitehouse comments of denial, fans of other clubs are welcome on here as far as i can see but not when they act like cocks.

Have a [Poor language removed] heart, imagine if you were in the place of a Rangers fan today, the poor bastards have gone from heaven to hell in the space of a couple of hours.

What about the Everton fans who shouted abuse at disabled kids a few months back? Wouldn't you try and distance yourself from them? Would you like to be included under the same banner of "Everton fans" with them?

As much as violence commited by Rangers fans at a Rangers match becomes the problem of Rangers football club it doesn't mean there aren't plenty of decent proper fans who are sick of their club being given a bad name by actions of other fans.

No, i'd accept that every club has some right idiots following, I wouldn't blame the host city and claim the fans support another club.

See the point am making?

No one has said Rangers dont have any decent fans, but a significant amount at the UEFA cup final acted like animals.

Also, about 5 Evertonians compared to thousands of Rangers fans is a poor comparison. If any, use Everton/Man Utd at Everton valley.

Yeah i see your point. And the comparison was just of how fans of any clubs can act like idiots and ruin a clubs name, wasn't comparing the 2 acts as equal.

Maybe Rangers like certain other clubs just attract assholes.

Yeah ok mate. It wasn't Rangers fans at all, it was all the Polices fault and fans of other clubs out to sabotage the good name of Rangers. Sort of like them Chelsea fans posing as Liverpool fans in the Champions League final.

Apart from just the CCTV shown on the news, other videos show Rangers fans (or sorry I forgot, Spurs/Dundee/Any other club ) fans dressed in undercover Rangers clothing punching hell out of eachother and anyone in sight.
