how good was that?

  • close to perfect...a 10 out of 10

  • very good, better than most other clubs...an 8 or 9

  • decent, happy enough...6 or 7

  • average, some good, some disappointing...a 4 or 5

  • poor, unbalanced...we're deffo worse now...a 2 or 3

  • unspeakably bad...(shirley no one will vote here?)

On holiday so have missed most of it but think Silva and Brands have done excellent, got all the ositions I was hoping for and more in Barnard and Gomes.

Sky have just put up a shot showing our side from the start of last season to the possible side this season. Only Pickford and Gueye from last season’s side deserved to start in this one. Everyone else has been upgraded.

Get Digne settled. Tierney in January and Baines out. I can see Digne at LCB in a 3 covering Tierney if he went forward and being able to be part of a two man cb system if someone has to take a stroll into midfield. It could be a very fluid yet defensively cohesive left hand side.

I get the feeling that we ain't heard the last of Tierney.

Could work very well with Holgate as the RSB covering Coleman and Mina in the centre.

I voted 8-9. If we get Zouma over the line (apparently we will not hear anything until tomorrow morning) then My vote would change (if possible) to a 10.

A 9 for me assuming Zouma comes off and we get 2 new cbs. Richarlison was one I was hesitant over but he's made a mockery of that in preseason and I hope he keeps it up. Bernard is going to be a very good player for us however long he is here for and was a great surprise. Signing 3 players from Barcelona is nothing to sniff at even if they weren't starters.

Maybe another striker or succesfully binning Bolasie and Besic would have pushed it to 10.

Great window, a solid 8 that will mature to a 10 over the next few months. We've successfully covered some areas we all knew needed dealing with. Instead of blasting huge sums at these players we've managed a few on loan so once we're in the champions league next year we can look to improve further, (or not if they're as good as we think they'll be)

Chelsea are in turmoil, Spurs are on a self enforced transfer ban, the mancs are never happy and arsenal will struggle. I think if we hit the ground running we can muscle our way into the running for a top four place. We don't have Europe and we don't have a lot of weary World Cup players.

I think once we have secured top four then the real buying power surfaces, although isn't it nice that we just seemed to have the money available to buy instead of having to sell first. It seems the transfiormation will appear slow but behind closed doors it is moving apace.

Think we will certainly be the shock side this season and put some noses out of place.

I’m not sure Chelsea are “in turmoil”. They’ve got such a good defence then can afford to let zouma out on loan. They already had one of the best (if not the best) central midfielders in Kante and they’ve strengthened that area of the side. Then they have Hazard, William, Pedro, Fabregas, Giroud (who we all wanted to sign last season) and Batashuyi (spelling? Who we all wanted to get in on loan).

Could obviously all change should Madrid bang a massive bid in for hazard I suppose.

We’ve had a great window and strengthened the side but the top 6 were miles ahead of us last season and are still all very strong. We’ve closed the gap but let’s not get carried away.

On paper we've had an excellent window, especially if we can add Zouma too.

I do have concerns about Gomes and Bernard and if they can adapt to this league but they are still extremely exciting signings regardless. I think Mina is a top notch signing.

It would be rare for such a turnaround in personnel and management to gel immediately so we have to be patient until Silva finds right blend and players find their feet in a tough league. But in terms of trying to address virtually every issue in the squad it is a really good effort imo. At least there is evidence of a coherent plan rather than last summer's scattergun who can we get approach.

I’m going 10/10.

We’ve signed a bright young player in Richarlison, a very good left back in Digne, a £50m player for free in Bernard, a beast of a centre back in Mina, a classic “player who has lost his way a bit” ala Pienaar in Gomes, and hopefully a pacey man-mountain in Zouma.

We’ve also got rid of loads of turkeys, and kept hold of Lookman who I believe will go on to be fantastic for us.

Genuinely don’t see how we could’ve done any better in one window.

Could’ve got a few more out (would’ve been nice to get fees for Besic and Bolasie and get Sandro’s wages off the books). Otherwise I agree, it’s been fantastic.
