how good was that?

  • close to perfect...a 10 out of 10

  • very good, better than most other clubs...an 8 or 9

  • decent, happy enough...6 or 7

  • average, some good, some disappointing...a 4 or 5

  • poor, unbalanced...we're deffo worse now...a 2 or 3

  • unspeakably bad...(shirley no one will vote here?)

The thing I like about the players we have brought in is that we really have turned our back on the negativity that Fat Sam brought to our club, we are going to try and win games. Not getting beaten is no longer success.
This. These players have clearly been sold a vision and they want to be a part of it. Last season was just mediocrity by force.

I just don’t see how people can’t be happy with the window.

You know what, yeah the players brought in may not work out, but Brands & Silva did a good job of getting rid (so far) of getting rid of the players who weren’t working, plus identifying and bringing in players to the areas which really needed addressing. Yeah Zouma may not pass in time, but they recognised it. And yeah we would have liked another forward, but let’s see what Tosun does with the new lads around him.

Put away until January

You might want to have it to hand for Saturday...!

Great window, a solid 8 that will mature to a 10 over the next few months. We've successfully covered some areas we all knew needed dealing with. Instead of blasting huge sums at these players we've managed a few on loan so once we're in the champions league next year we can look to improve further, (or not if they're as good as we think they'll be)

Chelsea are in turmoil, Spurs are on a self enforced transfer ban, the mancs are never happy and arsenal will struggle. I think if we hit the ground running we can muscle our way into the running for a top four place. We don't have Europe and we don't have a lot of weary World Cup players.

I think once we have secured top four then the real buying power surfaces, although isn't it nice that we just seemed to have the money available to buy instead of having to sell first. It seems the transfiormation will appear slow but behind closed doors it is moving apace.

Think we will certainly be the shock side this season and put some noses out of place.

The signings look very strong and are all experienced internationals.

We got rid of a lot of dead wood and more will probably follow out on loan.

Keeping Lookman now by the looks of it, so we all of a sudden have pace, with him, Walcott and Richarlison.

Gomes could go either way, will be interesting.

It certainly sounds like Marco Silva has a bit of a honey tongue. Quite a few of our signings have mentioned that Silva convinced them to join. In our position, coming off a miserable season, we desperately needed a bit of sweet talking to entice good players to come here. It really slooks like Brands and Silva are working well together. Silva pulls in the players and Brands convinces the other clubs to deal with us.

I’m going 10/10.

We’ve signed a bright young player in Richarlison, a very good left back in Digne, a £50m player for free in Bernard, a beast of a centre back in Mina, a classic “player who has lost his way a bit” ala Pienaar in Gomes, and hopefully a pacey man-mountain in Zouma.

We’ve also got rid of loads of turkeys, and kept hold of Lookman who I believe will go on to be fantastic for us.

Genuinely don’t see how we could’ve done any better in one window.

It has been excellent. Give the time to Marco to sort out his pool of players. It is still a transition season. No more than that.
