How'd we do out of 10?

A lot of fans on here are delusion, ask the question again if Beto has and injury or Branthwaite has an injury then you look and see what do we have in the squad?

If Beto is injured then the back up is DCL or Chermiti. All the same profile of forward so how we play suddenly doesn't change.

If all of those are out then Danjuma will go up top so for attackers we are doing vastly better after this window.

CB is more of an issue but we already have 2 replacements and are paying half the wages for another who is out on loan. Without being able to get someone like Evans we were going to struggle attracting a decent enough option who doesn't want a fortune in wages and who's happy enough on the bench as we wouldn't want to block Branthwaite from starting. Just got to hope he and Tarks have an injury free season.

Doesnt really matter, we probably cant afford to let anybody leave.
We've a decision to make, work the flanks and win the knock downs, or we've had it. In a six month window we're gearing up for a completely different style. (not knocking you or it)
We're going 'blood n guts' hence Beto, Cal-Lewin and Danjuma at a push.
It'll be interesting to see McNeil utilized where Iwobi was as the 'fulcrum', I'm guessing McNeil wins more headers in one month than Iwobi in his contract (thats by the by)

Our first team is fairly solid, I'd be a lot happier with a Digne sort on FK duty, but we are where we are. All prayers Beto doesn't get a leg break. He's a modern day Kevin Campbell.

Got the centre forwards
Got the stop gaps
Got 14 players out the door
Got rid of hot plates

6/10.

If we can sell Gray + Gomes to other leagues with windows still open then my rating will increase.

It’s about surviving above Luton, Sheffield and Burnley, or whoever is down the bottom.

This is not about glory days, although if the footballing gods smile on us, we could bond and surprise a few teams.

Got a man in that will try for every header? 200/10
Moved a player on that would never try for a header? 1000/10

Combine those odds, the '10' stays the same so 200x1000=200000/10=20000/ deal!

Please let this deal be ratified, (rat haha) we've suffered enough. We're back in the Smith 'Bruise brothers' age of Campbell and Ferguson.

We signed a striker Ling prospect , an established first choice CF that seems to fit our style of play, we have signed 2 wingers to supply him. So from an attacking point of view I think we have exceeded most people’s expectations.

We have got decent fees for 2 academy players , shifted maupay , cancelled gbamin for no fee and sold iwobi for 22m.

That is a huge success that could only have been bettered realistically buy selling maupay permanently.

The problem is that we have lost our best CB and are now facing the very real possibility of having one of either Keane or Godfrey at the back for large parts of the season.

The only way we can avoid this is if branthwaite plays well consistently and doesn’t get injured or suspended.

Our full back positions are amongst the worst on the league which is a major concern.

Realistically we were never going to bring in 7-8 players and offload the dead wood.

7-8 players of decent quality was what was needed to sort out the lack of attacking options, lack of creativity and to shore up the defence.

I think Kev has done well tbh given the financial restrictions and the fact that bill and mosh will have been treading a fine line of trying to look like they are trying to improve the squad but actually hoping that we don’t spend any money before they sell.

The window as a whole I would rate as a 6

so the squad is: -

Pickford
Virginia
Lonergan
Crellin
Patterson
Coleman
Keane
Godfrey
Tarkowski
Branthwaite
Young
Mykolenko
Onana
Gueye
Alli
Garner
Gomes
Doucoure
Onyango
Harrison
McNeil
Chermiti
Beto
DCL
Danjuma
Gray
Dobbin

its basically 25 players if you take out crellin and onyango

its an ok squad if everyone is fit but obviously the likes of coleman, alli, harrison, mcneil and DCL are injured and then the likes of Gray and Gomes have been ostricized by the club and the likes of Dobbin and Branthwaite have not been properly tested at this level yet and then the likes of Godfrey, Keane, Mykolenko and Doucoure who seem to be getting worse every season
