Some good outs but not enough in. understand Iwobi had to go in last year of contract and good news on holgate , gbabin and maupay . need more in but maybe will happen in next window if purse strings are loosened .

…I think we’ll only truly know at Christmas but I scored it 5.

The attack is finally strengthened. The signing of Chermiti and then Beto indicates little or no planning. The requirements are immediate & Chermiti is either not good enough or a long way off being ready. Beto looks useful but might be erratic, we should’ve used the Chermiti monies on a different target. Danjuma will give us attacking threat and a better output than Iwobi. No idea what’s happening with Gray.

I think we are currently weaker in midfield with the loss of Iwobi. It was terrific business getting £20m for him but we haven’t replaced his running power in possession. Harrison might fill that void but much will depend on when he’s ready and how robust he’ll be. If it wasn’t for his injury i think he’d be elsewhere.

The loss of Mina and Coady is countered by the introduction of Branthwaite. Young might be a step-up on Mykolenko but I believe we are weaker defensively. Coleman’s return is urgently needed to bolster quality and add leadership.

it’s ok celebrating the Iwobi monies but we missed a major opportunity not replacing him with real quality. In terms of our fight to stay up, i’d prefer him to still be here than look at £22m in our accounts. Harrison might help but that’s the problem with signing an injured loanee. All in all, I’m not full of enthusiasm for the state Thelwell has left the squad in.
I agree with all that @Eggs and I know you don't rate Thelwell ( and I get your reasoning) but do you not feel that he and the recruitment are having to work under terrible financial constraints because of years of financial mismanagement and Moshiri now deciding that he's had enough?

Like the incomings. Just wish we'd had a couple more to bolster the squad.

Understand the outgoings and the need to cut our cloth especially with our insane wage bill.

I'm going with a 7. If you look at our transfers over the last few years though, then we needed a lot more of this from the last few seasons.

Rated it 7, finally addressed the centre forward problem, Danjuma looks a handful, Harrison will probably offer as much as Iwobi did. The outs were for the most part impressive, although I do think there should have been a buy back clause for Cannon, I think he has potential, Iwobi was good business, last year of contract, average player and £20 mill plus. Maupay wouldn't have played much anyway and good to finally see the back of Gbamin, I'm interested to see how much we had to pay him to go.

On the minus side, we have two very old full backs, we can't depend on them playing every week and their back ups are struggling badly at this level. The really worrying thing is that we are just two injuries away from having Keane and Godfrey as our centre backs. All in all we will have to wait and see how the season pans out in terms of injuries, any serious injuries to our centre backs or centre midfielders and we could be in trouble.

Can’t believe we didn’t get another one in to replace iwobi. Going to end up with dobbin getting serious minutes which isn’t good. I don’t really know what’s going on at the club anymore. After loans leave, the squad looks very thin.

3/10. Seem resigned to the fact that relegation is inevitable. Selling as many players as they can while they still have value.

Rate it when we get few injuries and struggling. Like the business but we are threadbare . Everyone sold probably right but not getting loans in to pack out the squad will relegate us .

Gone with a 6,

I think we are improved, certainly upfront, and a lot of deadwood has gone.

People say on this forum every year that we need a good clear out and with 14 players gone we have certainly done that.

CB is probably the biggest concern. I think we need to keep Gray now, at least till January

Considering we actually have no money, that has been a very good window. The only first teamer to leave was Iwobi but each player brought in arguably makes the team better. Sadly, I doubt the £40M from Iwobi amd Cannon will be waiting for the winter window. It's pretty much go with what we've got.

…I think that’s definitely the case but it’s when a DOF (and a manager) really earn their corn. It’s when a clear strategy is most needed & i don’t see that. We should never forget Thelwell leaving us without an effective striker for an entire season. Finally he’s filled the void.

You can see the discontent in the ratings for the window. I think survival is now dependent on Dyche.
