Reading vs. Everton

What in effect happened in that game was Reading did us with our tactics of two to three years ago, they harried us, closed down and ran their socks off, good luck to them I say. Bikey had AJ in his arse pocket for most of the game, in fairness the bald one had very poor support from Vic, the baby is still a baby, he needs time.

Every fault we encountered in that game can be addressed by the signings we have made and are going to make including an additional central defender. It should not escape any ones attention that we certainly missed Joey Yobo yesterday, Joelon gave a weak performance in the middle compared to the way he has played at L/B, I trust that was a one off, Stubbsy was less comfortable with him as his partner.

Don't be too disspirited by the result, we certainly deserved a draw, Coppell's post match comments about our team were also very generous considering they had drawn at OT and lost a close match with Chelski.

Lets get these two or three signings in this week and watch us fly.(y)

I thought Stephan Hunt was excellent today, think he cpuld be a promising signing.

How bouts him and Micheal Kightley for the wings!

Hunt, just wait until Timmy is back mate, Kightley renewed his contract at Wolves so he won't be moving soon. Not like you to be out of date mate(y) Enjoy your adventure and don't get any 'infections' if you know what I mean(y) (y)

Hope your right Monty. Timmie is still six weeks away isn't he.

Reading is a formidable opponent and 3 games in seven days did our thin squad in. I expect a big bounce back against Rovers. Watching most prem games the first three weeks. I don't see Arsenal or Man Utd having good seasons this year. They both have some major problems and look very beatable. with that in mind I have to say Man City could prove me wrong this season their new boys have jelled faster than I even thought. We have a excellent chance this season to do very well.

Any news on the signing front? Moyes seems perturbed with the press at the moment. Which I don't half blame him.

[Poor language removed]..just, [Poor language removed].

But, there are] some positives if you put things into perspective;

To be honest, we had a fantastic points haul last season and we still managed to lose to the likes of;
Middlesbrough, Man City, Fulham, West Ham away,
not to mention Aston Villa, Wigan & Tottenham at home, and draws with Boro & City at home. Every team has [Poor language removed] performances, these points will be win back in easier games than this.
It's pleasing to know even in our [Poor language removed] games we dominated Reading; they work extremely hard and have played really well this season, but it's still a massive shame losing to them. All I can say is, it'll be one of a clutch of inexplicably rubbish performances that we're bound to have - we never, EVER seem to string good runs together.
With GP in full voice next week, hopefully the boys can rectify this poor loss.

I'd go with 4-4-2 again, hopefully by then with new signings on board, and Yobo fit again...

Howard

Jagielka - Yobo - Lescott - Baines

Arteta - Fernandes - Neville - Osman

AJ - Yakubu

Sorry but no way that Carsley gets left out.

Move Neville to RB, Carsley in his spot. Jags still sits.
