Looks like Apple have finally done away with the glass back, that looks like a very well built phone. That test shows exactly the reason why I didn't want an S3 though, it's got a flimsy plastic back which just reminds me of an old Motorola or something, and I've dropped my One X countless times with no damage at all, and all I used is a £3 gel case I got off Amazon.

The guy in the video even says 'it's just cheap plastic so who cares' when he drops it and the back comes off.

Polycarbonate is still plastic, it still feels massively cheap compared to the iPhone and One X in the hand.

NFC is also perfectly possible with an aluminium phone, not sure where you got the idea that it's not ! The reason Apple didn't bother with it is that the technology is practically non-existant in day to day life at the moment. It's like how Android OEMs launched phones with 4G before they had the battery tech and chips to really make it viable (the first 4G phone had a awful battery life, as did many after it).

The metal case would affect the signal, I don't know where you get the idea that it wouldn't! I could post a few links to counteract the ones that you'll undoubtedly post, showing that it won't.

I do agree that there's a good chance they felt it wasn't worthwhile including yet. Though I thought that the Passbook app was already moving towards this kind of thing? I'm not entirely sure what that is though, to be honest.

"Mobile payments are expected to exceed $600 billion" by 2016.

Apple will include it soon. I just think they left it out as they were obsessed with making this phone small and lightweight.

Maybe they'll include NFC in the iPhone 5s and claim it as another groundbreaking technology like ear shaped headphones.

Good God, I thought that was a piss take at first.

Was supposed to be getting a One X for work today, but Vodafone buggered up and will be here later. They already ported the number to their network, so I was left without a working phone. So instead they have given me a Lumia 800 until the One X arrives later.

Not bad, but the resolution is low (WP7 restriction) and getting used to the WP7 way of doing things is a bit annoying. She the 920 isn't here yet as I might have been tempted to run that along side my personal S3.

The 920's camera is seriously amazing.

No doubt! They are using the tech from their daft 41MP Pureview 808 concept.

And I prefer the One X shot to the iPhone 5 shot. Looks like less noise (and the iPhone 5 is reputed to have the same camera sensor as the S3), if a bit darker.

The thing is though, this is the PureView shot:

The 920 is using some ridiculous software/hardware combination to get the results it's getting.

It's the first smartphone camera of it's type to provide really good low light imagery without using tricks (such as what the iPhone 5 does) which leads to a lot of noise in the picture.

I'm torn between the Nexus 4 and the 920 at the moment but the 920's camera might seal the deal.

Well that was a short wait! The Lumia 800 is gone and a purty new white One X is in my possession.

Now I have an S3 and a One X!!!!

Lucky me!!!!!

I might be recommending the 920 to my friends wife, that camera is amazing. The camera in the phone is thee most important part of the phone for her. Sometimes to her annoyance as its meant she loses out on getting the better aesthetics, or user experience from the market. She bases her buying decision totally on what she believes offers the best photo experience.

Any idea what these phones retail for off contract? And is it likely to hold much retail value on the second hand market. iPhones for example, and the S3 tend to hold their value.

Well....so far i HATE Sense!!! I like Touchwiz more than Sense FFS!!!!

You on jelly bean?

One X in europe doesnt have it till end of november which improves sense alot.

I like it. The image sense stuff thats on there and the intergration of all the social networks in it, is great imo
