I have basically turned my iPhone into an Android with most of every remotely possible switched off.

There are some sys daemons I am tempted to switch off too!!

I adore this phone, the screen and camera are incredible, I believe the inherent problem with phones is they are no longer for "phone calls", they have replace a lot of process, note taking, online socialising, photo taking, banking, shopping, and the rest.

We're ahead of the technology, bring on the hydrogen battery's

The battery life on the S2 is sound. A full day no problem.

Also they have the cutting edge technology of being able to take our your battery and replace it. Fancy that apple. So I have a docking station with a spare battery in the f*cking back lad.

Android: yer mar.

Not sure I am down with a Hydrogen Fuel cell in a phone just yet.

I have a patent on an electronic device that does things.

I am suing Apple, Microsoft, HTC, Nokia, Motorola, Sony, Sansung et al for violating my patented property!!!!

iPhone 5 in three months! Other than that I'd go for one of them nifty Windows mobiles. They genuinely look good, and the UI is interesting. I still don't get the fuss over android, and Google are EVIL!

If your iPhone 4s is draining fast, go to settings and do the following

Turn off all location services
Turn off Cellular data (Until you need it)
And make sure your iCloud back up is being performed in the night when you have the phone on charge
Turn WiFi off
Turn Bluetooth off
Turn Vibration off
Turn off Push Data (set to manual)
Make sure Auto Lock is set to 1 minute
And turn the Equaliser off, it drains the battery for some reason (settings > Music > Equaliser)
Finally, make sure auto brightness is turned on

To have everything turned off is kinda against the point of having a smart phone... Might as well stick to a 2001 Nokia.

I was told when I recently changed from Blackberry to iphone4s that if there was an issue with the battery to get one of those cases with a built in extra power supply thing. I havent needed to do so because I use my iphone all the time in the car to play music so I always have it charging anyway. Love it.

Not really, smart phones drain the battery something terrible regardless of which one you have. Some just drain it more than others depending on screen size, functionality, background tasks etc

The screen is usually the main power drain

I used to be a big win mobile fan before the iPhone was released, and those had shocking battery life. They still beat the pants off the Blackberries at the time though, but were hampered by a terrible storage system. And a lack of supported upgrade options for the OS. You were basically stuck with what ever OS came on the phone unless you knew how to hack it.

Smart phones will always suck at battery life compared to normal phones.
