The funny thing is, all the people that had to have the iPad 2 the day it came out will buy this the day it comes out. For the exact same product repackaged, it's unbelievable. Apple has a good business right now, they have millions of people by the balls. How long it will last is a big question for me, because I've been holding on to shares for a year and a half.

Well no, the iPad 2 came with cameras and was very much slimmer and faster, the iPad 3 will again increase in speed, and a 2x improved resolution, something which hasn't been improved since the 1st generation, so every year since release has been a new feature & improvements.

Come on mate, the camera's on the iPad 2 are sh*te. The real thing with that was the upgraded internals. Although they should have upped the resolution and brought in a better quality screen to really put it over an iPad. A refurbed iPad 1 is still the best tablet buy on the market.

Hard to make something that wasn't in mass production....... The iPad two had a camera that sucked, very true and quite a disappointment in fairness. Apple aren't perfect by a long shot, but the screen wasn't something they could really do something about at the time.

Battery life is another thing Apple wouldn't have compromised, and it's taken them quite a while to sort the screen out for the iPad 3

Completely agree the iPad cameras are completely jarg, I lol when I see the PR shots on the apple site.

However a 233ppi (!?) screen will be incredible

Speed? Who cares, it's a damned tablet. People use it for a handful of things that doesn't require much. They aren't editing and producing video, they aren't playing resource intensive games. They are looking at pictures on facebook and shopping on amazon and streaming movies on Netflix. The "speed increases" are just there to make it look like they are doing something, which isn't even them, it's their hardware manufacturers. Their interface, as it with all the features, is the same since iOS1.

Again, that is why it is a brilliant business right now, Apple doesn't have to spend jack on R&D and use it all on marketing. As my awesome financial adviser told me: "they made a gravy train, ride it to the top of the hill and get off"

Are you mad? lol They spend a fortune on R&D lol. Try playing HD video on an iPad 1, it will stutter on certain codecs. things were much improved on the iPad 2, as was the responsiveness

God no I'm not mad, I apologize if I came off rude. And no compared to their size they spend very little on R&D (it's still a vast fortune to me or you mind, but compared to their market value, it's beans. But I love all that, it means good things for my portfolio.

No you didn't, I've just come back from the gym and i'm barely functioning

True, but they do spend an enormous amount on R&D. They do quite a bit on processor design too, as well as other types of research.

I put "Puss In boots", MKV on my iPad 2 used vlc to try to play it, no chance... I've never been able to watch HD films on my iPad 2

Why are you using VLC? That would be your problem. VLC was a one off port, it's not been supported at all on the iPad and was almost immediately pulled

Try using AV Player, it's multi core aware and it will play HD films. Mind you there's no point trying to play anything above 720 because that's the limit of the screen resolution

Steve Jobs has possessed your steroid ridden body lad. Sad to see.

It's upgrade time for me and I'm stuck between phones. I'm with Orange and I can't be arsed changing, I've got quite a decent contract, which I'm going to try and squeeze more out of.

18 months,
1000 minutes,
Unlimited texts,
500mb data (I need more)

£25 a month

Orange don't have a massive selection, I'm tempted by the Samsung Galaxy S 2, but it's been out for nearly a year now and I'm a bit skeptical, there's the new Nokia Lumia 800, but the reviews aren't quite as strong for it but it is a newer phone. There's also the HTC Sensation XE, but next month HTC are releasing two new phones; the One S and the One X, should I wait for one of these?

I'm really fcuking confused with this. Help would be much appreciated.
