Red or dread?

I am thinking of changing my manual Honda Civic for an automatic. I have never owned a red car since I was almost killed when my red Ford Sierra crashed into the only house for miles (no recollection of it but I was completely sober). Over the last 25 years, because of 'them' I also refuse to wear anything with red in it.

The thing is, the Mark 8 Civic looks fantastic in red and I have seen one that I really like the look of. Do I buy it though?

Do you also have a red embargo? Do you refuse to eat tomatoes, for instance?

I'm the opposite of the anti-red brigade because to put it simply I won't allow that shower across the park to stop me wearing a specific colour.

I wouldn't own a red car because there's been a few examples of it fading terribly, but I do own a handful of red t-shirts etc.

Same here.

Even just from a footballing point of view, Bayern, Ajax, Red Star Belgrade, Man Utd etc, so many big/good clubs use red, don't let that lot own anything, they already tried it with the Liver Bird.

No is the simple answer, do not buy a red car.

It's not just a red embargo either, it's most things related to them really, toiletries, alcohol etc. I've found it's got worse as I've got older rather than me maturing and realising it's a bit daft, but I don't care.

The only red I have worn is a couple of England football and Rugby tops along with one hoody that I bought to try and tell myself I wasn't bitter but then I realised that embracing the bitterness is just so much easier. It was weird when (for a couple of seasons) Barrow had a red away kit, my head was so conflicted :)

On another note, it was funny when a few of us were going to the game and when we got out of the car my mate realised that he had put a red coat on, just about was able to carry it and hide the red

On a third note, It was a while ago but I remember seeing a clip of a Barcelona fan on a Spanish game show winning a white car and him going absolutely mental. Always made me laugh.

Should this not be in the "pettiness" thread?
Agree with not wearing red, no Candy machines, Carlsberg is vile, Dulux is much better than Crown etc etc
