That defeat today, is an absolute body blow for them.
We have picked up more points from Spurs (with 10 men) and United away, than they have v Villa and Bournemouth at home.

Considering we lost we can’t really ask for much more than the two teams below us to also lose. If City can beat Southampton later then it’s nothing lost for us on what was always going to be a tricky fixture for us.

Lots of games still to go, 24 points on offer. No one is down, no one is safe yet.

Bournemouth have so far navigated this period brilliantly, they're giving themselves a fighting chance, Lampard is the gift that keeps on giving.

Leicester are Abysmal.

The bottom line is, we always had the best run in from 8 games on. We are outside of the relegation zone going into that. Every other team has harder fixtures, and are almost all in worse form.

We have to do our bit, starting with a win v Fulham. But realistically, it couldn't have gone much better for us post Dyche coming in.

Let's put it this way.

If it's a toss-up between nine times champions Everton and little Bournemouth, referees and officials - being human - are likely to be swayed by tradition all other things being equal.

If it's between nine times champions Everton and 2016 Premier League champions Leicester, then that psychological advantage is rather diminished.

And we play Bournemouth at home on the last day. We need to go to Leicester...
