clearly need a result today to keep us in with a shout, if not we will be clear favourites to go down by the time we come to the end of the crucial 3 game run from Palace to Leicester.

2 of those 3 are away which limits our chances of points plus the next 2 after that are odds on defeats - massively so against City.

Personally I think we’re screwed either way given the nature of the 5 after today, but a defeat today confirms it early

Good to see that you’ve covered your back here just in case we win. Looks like there’s no point even turning up because we’re down anyway according to you. You are incredibly boring.

I'm on holiday at the moment and me nerves are shot, so just ordered this to see me right.

Looks boss that. A lot more exciting than the Everton starting line up is anyway.

We’ve been refusing to have “must win” games for ages now. We just need X wins out of 12, we just need X wins out of 10. We refuse to call things must win to avoid the panic when we don’t, and start talking about the maths, number of points remaining, other teams run-ins.

At some point we just have to start winning and an under strength out of form Fulham at home for me is absolutely cast iron must win or we aren’t showing the form or composure required to save ourselves.

Lots of maths and hand wringing will be done after this weekends fixtures, but I personally think I will know what division we are “likely” to be in next year in a few hours time. 🤢
I agree. It's a bellwether match that will indicate the direction of travel. It won't decide anything, but it will definitely point to the likely destination.

A win and I think the evidence is there that Dyche is getting enough out of this rabble to hoist us somehow to safety.

A draw and I think we are still alive, but will almost certainly need a last-day result to save our skins.

A defeat and it's time to make our peace with, if not certain relegation, then the reality that we will stay up by default if we do somehow survive. At some point, a team has to show something worthy of survival. Sure, we might somehow find it against City or Newcastle, but that wouldn't be something I'd want to be hanging my hat on to.

Today is all sorts of critical.

Aston Villa currently 6 points off third despite being, like us, in a perilous situation and with an appalling manager just five months ago. We could do easily have landed Emery, a genuinely top class manager.

He would have looked at our awful squad and still gone to Villa. They are just a much better team with an actual goal scorer in attack.

Here you go lads, nice video to go with your cup of bleach

Obviously no idea if any of what he says is accurate but we all love a bit misery porn
