Leicester has won 1 point in last 6 games
forest has won 2 points in last six games

losses for them today Against City and ManU is likely. Poor form is hard to break at this time of the season.

a win today gives us a great position to survive from.

That is possibly the most negative post I've seen on here.
I think it's negative too - but there is this one caveat: the depressives and "negatives" have tended to be closer to the mark than the positive types over the Kenwright years.

It's the optimists who have been deluded - and demonstrably so.

As for my position in the pantheon of personality types, I think we really do have to win today. I think we can scramble to safety - somehow - with a draw, but that surely guarantees heart-attacks and the occasional death on the last day. Nobody needs that.

A win today gets us back into the pack, boosts morale, and gives us belief for the critical Palace game. Fail to do that and any survival we do manage will likely be of the agonising variety.

So, all in all, I don't think I can laugh the manic depressives out of the house just yet.

The pressure will be off Palace after today. The reality is they wee never really in trouble.
Personally think the Pressure was off as soon as Palace got all the mad awkward run of games they had out the way, always thought they would be ok as there was no way for me they would have kept on losing to the "Weaker sides" compared to that awful run of fixtures they had.

I think we can get points in all of our remaining matches. Whether we will is a very different forecast. Frankly, it doesn't matter what we get from this vantage point. We are very much in "every game as it comes" territory. We're basically scaling a mountain. If we look up - or down - we might fall. If we put one foot in front of the other as we climb, we'll soon find ourselves safe.

I dont recognise the validity of those forecasts.

We'll beat Newcastle and B'mouth at home...and I think we'll beat City given their circumstances coming into that game with a likely Real Madrid SF games days before and days after.

I see an away win at Leicester...and we've handed Brighton a defeat and draw down there in recent years.

I think we get another 11/12 points IF we win today and take the pressure off.

This is possibly the most positive post I have seen on this forum

It's all based on getting a result today.

If we get that confidence will be so high that we'll get very close to those results I outlined and perhaps get all of them.

I applaud your confidence Davek

But how would beating Fulham at home boost our confidence so dramatically? They are the closest thing to a 'free three points' in the Premier League at the moment - already safe, can't challenge for Europe, star player suspended

Today is a massive game (aren't they all lately?). The teams below us have been abysmal but nearly every year at least one of the bottom teams string a couple of wins together from nothing, which then turns everything on its head. Bournemouth looked dead and buried a couple of weeks ago, but they can at least score. So while they'll mostly lose they can get a few 3 pointers too. Leicester and Leeds can also both score more than us. We're toothless up front, but defensively more organised under Dyche, so we're slightly more inclined to draw. We're crawling along in the hope that neither of those have that little sprint finish. Goodison needs to be at its bearpit best start to finish and hopefully we can get those all important wins.
