I think it's a foregone conclusion now. There aren't 3 worse teams than us, we're dreadful. 3-1 at home to Fulham and I'm sure they feel it should have been more.

The concern is really how we survive financially speaking. We're being investigated in the premier league and will get slaughtered in the championship. Pickford will make us money. Onana might turn a small profit. I don't see much from anyone else. I mean, our best player is McNeil and I don't see us making a profit on him.

I don't think it's ever felt so dark.

You know, I was a teenager when Everton were the best team in Europe. Then, we declined to the point of near death in 1994. And since then it has been a slow managed decline with other near-death experiences. Over time, I forgot what it was like to support a good team. Then the hurlers came along and reminded me what it felt like to support not a good team but a great team. Just as Everton once were. I felt like a Corkman!

All good things pass. This Limerick team will pass. But what memories. As for Everton? The memories are very old now. Perhaps it's time to finally put his beloved old dog down. He's had his day.
That's the thing Cork are in bit of a barren period at the moment in both GAA codes.

I still am confident that Cork will return to glory again. With Everton i don't ever see us getting back to the top table again sadly.

As a kid I would have been livid at our situation. I'd have been clinging to the ceiling with my fingernails frothing at the gums. But I (genuinely) do not care about the possibility of relegation. Maybe it's because I'm older and my interest in footy -- including the Euros and World Cup -- has been on the wane since 2015. Or maybe it's because I've watched too many Adam Curtis documentaries and I've just zoned out of caring about trivial things.
We all care more about the footy when we're kids.

In the grand scheme of things, when you see what President Xi is doing to the Uighurs or what Putin is doing in Ukraine, sport is clearly not as important.

But Everton is a big part of my identity and for the duration of my life (since 5 anyway) I've supported a top-flight football team. My Dad will be turning in his grave.

This is 100% on the cowards in the boardroom. They needed the supporters to drag them through last season. There was tacit acceptance of it as long as we didn't do it again. Here we are with 7 matches to go looking like we are going down. Just [Poor language removed] awful.
Replacing Richarlison with Maupay and McNeil was criminal

Feels inevitable after today even though it's only one result and I wasn't as worried before the match.

Stands are emptying because they can't even be arsed booing them. It's too nice out blues, go do something healthy for yourselves and have a pint outside.
