To put all our hopes on an injury prone Calvert Lewin remaining fit was naive at the very least.
Agreed, but it even goes beyond the striker position, specifically failure to recruit wingers and midfielders who can share the goal scoring burden. Imagine where we might be in the table with just an additional 5 to 10 goals on the season. Just an epic failure by the Board and DOF.

We need a minimum four points from our next two games. Unfortunately I don't see that happening. I have resigned myself to Everton being relegated. However, in recent times Newcastle, Aston Villa and Leicester have been relegated and they are now in a back in the premier league so maybe it won't be the end of the world for us.
None of them were relegated with our financial problems though.

Probably play it behind closed doors if that’s where we are - they wouldn’t let us near the place/players I don’t think - we’ve already got a bad rep for headlocking CEOs, pitch invasions, chasing players & volleying players cars etc.

Disgusting to be even thinking it tbh - this owner and board have so much to answer for.
Behind closed doors, exclusion zone around Goodison - then the tv cameras pan round to the directors box and lo and behold there they are!
Moshiri, Kenwright, Sharp, and DBB wrapped up in their match day blankets, with their “Good Times” banner draped over the stand in front of them!

don't know where to put this but I'm gonna rant to see if it helps.

I'm sick of bill kenwright
I'm sick of his celeb mates like tony Bellew
I'm sick of all the ex players who've said nothing about this mess.
I'm sick of having my mood effected by this football club. I'm 46 and only have vague memories of a time they didn't piss me off.
I feel for the fans a few years younger than me and I really feel for the super dedicated American fans I've met who have never known success.
I'm sick of the media freaking when chelsea slip in to the bottom half or spurs slip to sixth but seem to ignore Everton's plight.
I'm sick of the managerial merrygoround and the DoF buying crap season in and out.
I'm sick of the crap fans give injured players online, it's not like they chose to be injured, in fact it could probably be put down to poor player management by the club.
I'm sick of the echo not calling our owners out like they did theirs.
I'm sick of telling myself that the other results don't matter when they do.
Most of all I'm sick of getting my hopes up for nothing.

Na, that didn't help at all...
apologies :)
