Similar dynamic to last season at this point.

2 points from safety with five to play.

Leeds were in the bottom three with two games to go, and we both survived.

No matter how grim it is it’s not over until it’s impossible.

Another sense of realism here. I went to this game hoping for the best but they were better, are better, and have now scored ten goals in 2 games, we have scored 25 all season. They are fighting for champions league and us to stay in it.

All in not lost. Let’s also have it right, every attack, they scored. A poor save from Pickford, a worldy outside the box curler, two sweaty fifa goals where you run down the line, cut in, up the touchline and then pass it across the goal. Again, all is not lost.

Beat Leicester, get something against Brighton, Wolves and then hope Bournemouth are on their hols on the last game of the season. All is not lost. Dyche may it get wrong at times but we have also only lost to;

Arsenal away
Liverpool away
Villa home
Fulham home
Newcastle home
Manchester United away

Apart from really the Fulham game, I didn’t think we would get any points from any of those games. I think one thing is clear Godfrey has lost his way, and is not a right back. There needs to be more of an attacking threat from midfielder, Garner? And Iwobi simply cannot find a man with a pass. I hope Gray starts next game, at least he’s a goal threat.

So for me guys, I think we are done.

Sure its still possible, and we could get out of this, but I came away from last night thinking we won't win another game this season.

I have never seen such a spineless bunch of cowards in my life. Also, blame has to be put on Dyche too, there's lots of things which baffle me about him;

- Corners has everyone in the box so soon as something is cleared its right back (Fulham scored a couple this way)
- The continuation of Godfrey and watching his positioning as a 3rd cb, when every game the winger he plays against is free.
- The weird thing about running us out so early for the 2nd half, every game under him (from my memory) we have started the 2nd half awful, is it linked to this? Not sure, but the players are out there day dreaming.
- Set up and tactics at times have left a lot to be desired.

All the above said, he gave us a chance, Lampard would have had us relegated already.

It's still not over, but I have made peace with it now. What's the point in trying to welcome the players and gee them on while they haven't got a fighting bone in their body.

They're all awful, we bang on about some of our kids never making it at Prem level, truth be told, our starting 11 is would struggle in the championship.

The "fight for us" banner was a lovely touch, shame it fell completely on those cowards.

Concerned me for years this. When I was younger (I'm 31 ffs) the split in the city tended to be relatively even. People not really into football supported Liverpool, but football fans it was even split.

They went and got Klopp and won things, we turned into a right basket case. Tide has been turning massively in their favour the past 10 years, murals, advertising. Everything.

Whilst Everton done nothing. Hate this board.
Same to be honest am 34. When I was younger half me mates blues half me mates reds and as you say people who didn’t like footy were Liverpool fans but it was more a less even. My little brother is 17 and all his mates except one are kopites the difference is none of them go the match where my brother and his mate do. Then my nephew is 7 his school is full of Liverpool fans it’s generally getting worse and worse.

If we go down as seems the most likely outcome now will that be enough for the owner to sell up and the current board to be outed?
Playing next season in the championship would only be bareable if we have a complete reset including a new young progressive manager.
Sean Dyche must go he is a dinosaur who belongs in the 70s or 80s playing hoof ball and percentage football when football was played on pitches that were devoid of grass and were 50 percent sand.
I know we will not be able to out all the players but I would get rid of as many as we can there is not a single player on the books I would be sorry to see go.Let the new manager create as many funds as he can to bring in the players he wants to do the job .
I would scrap the Dof role a manager should have complete control of incomings and outgoings with the help of negotiator looking after the money.
The biggest lift we as supporters could have now would the board to resign immediately on mass.

Thing is mate, I was thinking this after walking from the game yesterday.

If we go down, I can only imagine the protests will go another level - last day of the season at home will probably lead to mass protests.

Not that the absolute cowards would be there.

On Dyche, I think he was brought in for the eventuality of us being relegated tbh - however I personally think that the football he plays is now dated in the championship personally, and think that something different is needed down there.

The issue we have is the squad, I don't see any style of football fitting what we have - and we aren't currently in the position to be spending funds. So I dont know what the answer is, this squad will struggle down there 1000000% though. I believe that.

We could've won but we also could've lost it if Bamford could score from 2 yards out. I think it's easy to look at other sides and not see their flaws when your own team is struggling. We've played better but that's only because we couldn't really get much worse. This will come down to mentality and that's what worries me.

We do have more game winners I agree but will they turn up?

Hope we both somehow stay up
Bamford was offside, wouldn't have counted.

Players and manager not good enough for this league. They might do ok in the Championship - Cannon seems to be doing well and he's no better than what we've got. I though Forest were mad changing their entire team when they got promoted, but actually it's a reflection of the gulf in class.
fulham have done ok,
brentford last season!

The remaining 2 games should be about protesting against the owner chairman and board

We are gone and not getting out of this

We need real change and a fresh start next year.

to be honest I get you're sentiment, but while it's mathematically possible, ignore the tits, then I absolutely agree and it should carry on in the close season, even protest at his theatre, that's really all he cares about. Still protest before and after the games though.

Apparently Pickford has a relegation clause in his contract. He'll be gone for buttons

Really not arsed, he can go I don't rate him that highly anyway, you could say that about the rest of the squad as well, not good enough and after watching them play all season, a lot of them will find it hard to find clubs in the premier league, they're just not very good.

Please don't blame the fans, even those that clapped Kenwright. Whether they clapped him or not, it wouldn't have changed anything. We are just pawns in this game. He would have continued on his warped journey regardless of a bit of applause. If some fans supported him in the hope that things would improve, then so be it. This mess is certainly not their fault.
I didn't "blame the fans". I pointed out the behaviour of "some" fans. They were his patsies and enablers. Without their support, he couldn't have done what he did.

But, as we are all suffering now, I'm not going to labour the point. By the same token, the "woe is me" stuff gets us nowhere either. One thing we can agree on is we need a new board. Here's to better days. Take it easy.

Finally cement our irrelevancy.

100%

In the championship I'd be asking anyone who doesn't want to stay to find another club and forcing some of them out regardless

Agree with the points you raised. Firstly if we lose on Monday and Brighton away. Then lose at home to Man City depending on how other results have gone we could be relegated by then. Wouldn’t be surprised if there was mass pitch invasion and protest. Definitely be a protest in the ground anyway. It could get ugly to which is a concern.
Second point on dyche is I do believe he was brought in to try and keep us up and if not get us back up. Now his first few games were really promising. Like yesterday we total bossed the first half, yet a mistake again led to a goal. And the biggest mistake that was made was playing Godfrey at right back. He has shown against Man U and Fulham he is useless at full back. Patterson ingore his qualities he is a right back simple as that. That’s cost us. Then it’s the exclusion of simms for maupay. So on that basis I am begging to be wary of keeping dyche.
