I understand the sentiment, but some of the fans had their own part to play in this. Those among us who clapped Kenwright on the Jumbotron as Barry Horne waxed lyrical were the harbingers of low standards, pious complacency ("that's Kopite behaviour"), and fellow-travellers of managed decline.

And that's before we talk about those who were wildly off the mark in hyping up players (and some managers) who were incredibly out of their depth - and demonstrably so over time.

As I said, we can all wash our hands, but the club - all of us - needs to take a good look in the mirror. This has been coming for a while.

….I’m sure there are lots that ’i told you so’ applies to but I wouldn’t blame a single fan for not being all-in from the outset. I never warmed to Kenwright but I actually welcomed Moshiri’s investment at one point but the total mismanagement and incompetence of the owner, Kenwright & Board is now surely obvious to all.

We are two points off IT but it may as well be ten. We are not getting out of it this time. Bang average defence, laughable attack, a Championship manager, a woefully inadequate DOF and the worst board in the sport, it’s inevitable that we go down.

Still doesn’t make it any less devastating.

Finally cement our irrelevancy.

100%

In the championship I'd be asking anyone who doesn't want to stay to find another club and forcing some of them out regardless

Agree only trouble is we are going to lose a fortune, ffp an that, just goes to show how poor our recruitment has been, vastly overpaid on fee's and wages, worst run club in the Country.

Could end up resulting in one of the biggest mass shake-ups in the clubs history.

Imagine being relegated and then, in the summer, the board are replaced and the squad gets a mass culling in one fell swoop..

First half was ok but you could see Godfrey was completely lost (from my viewpoint culpable for first goal) and all they needed to do was target our right side - which they did for another 3 goals. He really can't play that position - if Dyche persists with it we are done.

I know Keane isn't popular on here, but he's a better defender than Godfrey full stop and helped him a lot first half.

I can see on another thread people moaning about Mykolenko but our left was far more secure and at least he knows how to close down and defend.

We evidently have a team with weaknesses to be exploited - and not enough goals to make up for it. KITAP1

They can't give up though, at least put up a fight for the remaining games.

That's probably the best scenario that we can hope for. Not guarantee that we will see such a clear out though, either in the boardroom or on the pitch.
We could end up in the Championship, with the same board, and many of these gutless players.

More mismanagement - different league

Thing is mate, I was thinking this after walking from the game yesterday.

If we go down, I can only imagine the protests will go another level - last day of the season at home will probably lead to mass protests.

Not that the absolute cowards would be there.

On Dyche, I think he was brought in for the eventuality of us being relegated tbh - however I personally think that the football he plays is now dated in the championship personally, and think that something different is needed down there.

The issue we have is the squad, I don't see any style of football fitting what we have - and we aren't currently in the position to be spending funds. So I dont know what the answer is, this squad will struggle down there 1000000% though. I believe that.
I agree the squad is an issue but other clubs have been able to bring in players without paying ridiculous wages and fees we have to realise we are no longer an elite club and won't be again until we get the basics right.
I think we could get funds with the following sales.
Pickford 35m
Onana 35m
Keane 10m
Holgate 2m
Gana 2m
Iwobi 10m
Maupay 3m
Gray 10m
DCL 15m
Doucoure 10m
Godfrey 5m
Then trust in the manager to get his own replacements

Godfrey was an absolute shambles. he offers less than Myko going forwards (and that is barely anything) but he gets turned inside out far too often. allowing that guy to breeze past him on the outside (for their second I think) was the final straw for me.

The points may be similar to last year but we lack 2 very important things

1) Richarlison took responsibility, almost single handedly at times, to get us over the line. We dont have him now.

2) We had a manager who the whole club was behind. Someone who was the right fit at the right time.

You cant compare with last year. We cant score this year for a start. The chances of survival are about as slim as it gets. We dont need rallying cries, we need realism. We all can see what is happening and that we need a miracle.

I could see us giving likes of Davies, Holgate 1 yr extensions if we get relegated.
