This is why it's so sad that you now trot out their line that the reason we're being relegated is the fans and not them. It's them, it's always been them, the fact that you're now saying that it's the fans is what is incomprehensible. You may not like it but you are acting as their stooge. Quite the fall.
You've got everything wrong there.

We;re being relegated by a lot of things: the owner primarily but also the board who have provided no oversight or control over the owner. And I'm not "blaming the fans" at all. I'm saying specifically that a campaign orchestrated by a group without structure and with no democratic decision making process has created an atmosphere of disunity in a situation where it was deadly to be disunited.

All of that is the truth.

'Stooge' my arse.

When u sell player you have to account for the full outstanding amortisation amounts. If Onana cost 30m that means 24m of that gets accounted for as a loss on the P&L immediately. McNeil was about 15m and upon sale, he has about 12m to be accounted for immediately on the P&L. Selling Onana for 35m would only yield about 11m profit and costs need to be taken out of that too. Selling McNeil for anything less than 12m would result in an instant loss which EFC probably can't afford to do.
True but if we go down I think our problems will extend beyond the P/L. We will need to sell just to pay the bills unless Mosh is going to continue digging deeper into his pockets

If we stay up I would agree it makes no sense to sell this summer. Wait another year for his valuation to rise In the market but reduce on the books

I don't get this take.

Arguably we will be in a worse financial position than Sunderland were.

The players we have and the wages they are on - Pickford signed a new contract that multiple journalists confirmed doesn't have a relegation release clause in.

2022 turnover was - £181m

63% of that was broadcast income.

That gets slashed by 45% in the Championship.

So a club that lost £44m in 2022 is going to have make up a shortfall of that lost broadcast money which means gutting the players - which we'll get absolutely screwed over with because our (sellable) players are on big money contracts and other teams know we'll desperately need the cash and they'll hang us out to dry with the fees.

And then there stadium funding situation is absolutely wild. I know infrastructure costs technically don't count towards P&S / FFP but anyone looking to buy a stake in the club with that money used to fund the stadium they'll just leverage the debt against the club and wallop big % on the payback.
I understand mate. That's why I said the opportunity.
There's no guarantees, and there's always the chance we could sink further. But I'm not going to stop supporting.

Well, it took long enough, but I'm glad you've finally admitted it.

You were good value in the plotters days, but seeing you attempt to beat your chest about a club that's been cashing Premier League cheques since day one somehow avoiding last-minute relegation escapes is just sad. It also completely ignores the fact that we were perennial candidates for the drop under Smith, hence him being sacked despite Kenwright's reluctance.

I also believe we would have continued moving steadily down the table under Martinez, but there's no proving that and it doesn't really matter now.
How am I doing that specifically?

Will any of yous actually watch the prem while we're in the championship? If Everton aren't in it, I literally can't imagine caring what happens in another division. Never followed the champions league or any of that nonsense, don't think I'll be watching the prem at all next year tbh

Spot on.

The league is just crap these days, no matter how Sky try to spin it.

It breaks my heart to know now that Goodison will host its final games whilst in the Championship.

My contempt for the Board, managers and players that have got us into this is beyond words.

Indeed.

And I will tell you what is worrying me even more.

That the first F.A. Cup tie at BMD will be in the 1st Round come November 2025.

Because successive relegations aren’t out of the question from where I am sitting.

last season we had some bad defeats towards the end of the season at home but we never had back to back home defeats

that was crucial because for example after the disappointment of losing to wolves at home we then beat Newcastle, after the disappointment of losing to Brentford at home we then beat palace

this just feels like the end now especially after back to back home defeats to Fulham and Newcastle at home

if the football club was run correctly and there was direction then these campaign groups wouldn’t exist, there is only so much fans can take when putting their life and soul into the club as well as there hard earned cash.

These owner/board have dealt us Rafael Benitez Sam Allardyce, Rondon Tosun and many many others, for that alone the should be forced out of this football club.

No not a chance. TBH I hardly watch any other games now anyway. Mainly as we are a nothing team these days I have no interest in it whatsoever.

That's how I see it as well. The teams that haven't been in the CL a few times eventually get on a bad run, change manager too many times and eventually go down.

We have been something of an anomaly to this until now.

Happened to Newcastle and Leeds as well despite being in the CL for a couple of sessons round the turn of the century.

Last season felt much different than this, wierdly I had a lot more hope then. Now i have already accepted we will be in the Championship next season.

Onana will go but the price will be much higher than £35m id imagine.

Don't worry about Goodison hosting its last games in the championship as if we do get relegated BMD will not be completed and will end up looking like a half finished council estate. Meanwhile Goodison will be falling apart just like the rest of the club.
